(CBS) - A frantic Dane Cook took to Twitter on Saturday night with one plea: "West Hollywood I need your help please. My dog Beast is missing in that area. I've attached a pic. Email direct2dane@DaneCook.com if found."

The comedian and actor then attached a Twitpic on his next post of Beast, a miniature pinscher, urging folks in the neighborhood to let him know if they see his beloved pet or come help search for him.

"If any volunteers want 2 come help us find Beast please come now to 1289 North Crescent Heights Blvd West Hollywood ask 4 Richard Pollmann," Cook added.

Tweeters responded with support.

Even actress Denise Richards was on board. The fellow animal lover re-tweeted Cook to spread the word.

And hooray! On Sunday, Cook and friends found Beast.

"Beast is alive and well - thanks everyone that helped us find him. And to everyone that said he was dead ... you are sick f****," Cook tweeted yesterday.
