HOUSTON - A teenager has been charged with burglary after security video from inside a Houston-area house showed a man with a flashlight peering at a sleeping toddler in a crib.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says nobody was hurt in the April 5 burglary and that 18-year-old suspect Christopher Gomez faces an initial court appearance Monday.

Gomez is charged with three counts of burglary of a habitation. Authorities earlier this week publicized the home invasion video in an effort that generated tips and led to Thursday night's arrest. Online jail records had no listing of an attorney for Gomez, whose bond was set at $300,000.

The video shows a man in a cap using a flashlight to check out various rooms as the family slept.

Computer equipment and cash were stolen.

Authorities say Gomez slipped into the home through an unlocked first-story window and appeared to be aware that surveillance cameras were recording his every move, but carried on anyway, authorities say, reports CBS affiliate KHOU.
