(CBS/AP) ATLANTA - Chris Kelly, known for being part of the 90's rap duo Kris Kross, was found dead on Wednesday at his home in southwest Atlanta, according to CBS affiliate WGCL.

The Fulton County Police Department said based on the evidence found at the scene and witnesses accounts, it appears Kelly died of a drug overdose. Medical examiners will perform an autopsy Thursday to determine the cause of death, WGCL reports.

Kelly, who was 34, jumped to fame with his singing partner Chris Smith "Daddy Mac" in the 90's when they were both teenagers. They became popular for wearing their pants backwards and won fans with their raps.

Earlier this year, the duo performed together to celebrate the anniversary of the Jermaine Dupri's label, So So Def. Dupri was the producer who initially discovered them at an Atlanta Mall.
