In the December issue of Vanity Fair magazine, the 66-year-old superstar commends her son, formerly called Chastity, for the way he handled the whole situation.

"If I woke up tomorrow in a guy's body, I would just kick and scream and cry and f------ rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am -- a girl," she said to the magazine's West Coast editor, Krista Smith. "I would not take it as well as Chaz  has. I couldn't imagine it."

Cher also admits that she's still struggling to refer to Bono, 41, by the correct gender.

"She's a very smart girl--boy! This is where I get into trouble," she said. "My pronouns are f----d. I still don't remember to call her 'him.'"

Cher will soon be seen on the big screen in "Burlesque," alongside pop singer Christina Aguilera.
