Chelsea fan involved in Paris racial incident speaks

LONDON - The solicitor for one of the Chelsea fans involved in an alleged racist incident in Paris has apologized on his behalf to the victim and says he will co-operate with police.

Richard Barklie - a former Northern Ireland police officer - was identified as one of the men sought by London police investigating a video of a black man being pushed off a Paris metro train. It happened before a match on Tuesday.

Solicitor Kevin Winters says Barklie accepts being involved in an incident where a man "was unable to enter a part of the train" but denies taking part in any racist chanting.

In a statement, Winters said Barklie "apologies for the trauma and stress suffered" by the victim, and added: "He has an account to give to police.
