(CBS) BOSTON - Police are searching for a 17-year-old Massachusetts girl who was last seen Monday with a man she may have met online, CBS Boston reports.

Brittany Thompson, of Medfield, a suburb south of Boston, was last seen leaving the Medfield Public Library with an unidentified man around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The teen's father, Michael Thompson, told CBS Boston he does not know the man in the surveillance photos released by police, although he said his daughter may have met the man online.

Thompson said his daughter is a special needs student and a senior at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin. Investigators say Thompson is developmentally delayed, according to the station.

Police say the man Brittany Thompson was last seen with is white and heavy-set. He had slicked back hair and was wearing a "Sons of Anarchy" T-shirt.

Brittany Thompson is described as being five-feet, six inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She has braces on her teeth and was last seen wearing a red sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and flip flops.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brittany or the man she was last seen with, is asked to call Massachusetts State Police at (508) 820-2121 or Medfield Police at (508) 359-2315.
