(CBS) JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The body of a man is his 60s was found in a block of cement in his Jersey City apartment Tuesday, according to CBS New York.
Neighbors reportedly said the building's super called police when he couldn't open the man's apartment to check on a foul odor coming from inside.
When police arrived, they made their way inside and found a block of cement in the corner of a room. The officers chipped away the block and discovered the man's body, according to WCBS sources.
Neighbors told the station the man recently lost his wife and job. He was living with his stepson.
The man's identity has not been released.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation.
