Beyonce to face media for first time since inauguration controversy

Beyonce is expected to face the media Thursday as she previews her halftime performance at the Super Bowl football championship, but the focus will likely be on her performance at President Barack Obama's inauguration earlier this month.

The press conference is scheduled to begin 3:15 p.m. ET.

The superstar hasn't spoken publicly since it was alleged that she lip-synched her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the inauguration. Since she hasn't addressed the controversy, it's expected the topic will be the main focus of her afternoon press conference in New Orleans.

The Super Bowl halftime performer usually talks about the halftime show. On occasion, some acts have performed for the media.

Although Beyonce hasn't spoken about the attention surrounding her national anthem performance, she has been active on Instagram, posting photos of her rehearsals in New Orleans. On Wednesday, the singer's website unveiled a new promotional photo featuring the R&B/pop star posing as a referee.

And speculation over Beyonce's halftime performance has been growing. Us Weekly reported last week that Destiny's Child may join Beyonce at halftime, but group member Michelle Williams has since denied those claims.

Beyonce posted a video of her rehearsals. Check it out below:
