Barbara Walters names Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence among most fascinating people of 2013

Miley Cyrus fascinated us with her twerking, and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence wowed us with her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook."

The past year featured some fascinating stories and people, and apparently Barbara Walters thought so, too. On Wednesday night, the veteran TV journalist revealed her picks for the Top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013 -- and both Cyrus and Lawrence made the cut.

Walters' top pick, though, wasn't an entertainment celebrity. Instead, it was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Many will be watching Clinton’s moves closely in the months as speculation grows over whether she will announce a run for the presidency.

Walters had some other interesting picks for her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013 list, including Hollywood couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who not only got engaged this year, but also welcomed baby North. Walters chose the cast of the hit reality TV show "Duck Dynasty" for her 2013 tally, as well as NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and "Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts, who underwent a bone marrow transplant. And the list wouldn't have been complete without some royal flair. Duchess Kate and Prince William's baby Prince George was also among the Top 10.

According to ABC, this will mark Walters’ final "Most Fascinating" special. In May, the 84-year-old journalist announced she would be retiring in 2014.
