(CBS) Ashton Kutcher showed off his singing pipes and offered a few words of financial wisdom while accepting his surfboard trophy at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards.
"Here's the best piece of advice I got when I was a teenager," said the new "Two and a Half Men" actor, who was named choice actor in a romantic comedy for his role in "No Strings Attached."
"Don't ever charge anything on a credit card if you don't already have the money in the bank to pay for it."
The 33-year-old, who was dressed casual wearing a plaid shirt, straw hat and sunglasses, ended his speech singing a lengthy rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," with the crowd eventually joining him.
The fan-voted ceremony was hosted by "The Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco.
"Harry Potter," "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," "The Vampire Diaries," Selena Gomez, Robert Pattinson, "Glee," Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift were among the night's big winners.
