(CBS News) Get ready for a singing, dancing toga party - a stage musical based on "Animal House" is in the works.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions announced Monday that it is developing a musical based on the classic 1978 film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Animal House: The Musical" will feature an original score by the band Barenaked Ladies (known for its hit "One Week" and for the theme from TV's "The Big Bang Theory") and a libretto written by playwright Michael Mitnick, THR reports. Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, who directed "The Book of Mormon" and "The Drowsy Chaperone," will direct and choreograph the stage production.

No cast or dates have been set for the musical.

The original "Animal House" starred John Belushi, Tom Hulce, Bruce McGill, Tim Matheson, Stephen Furst and Karen Allen. Set in 1962, it follows a college dean's efforts to expel the debaucherous Delta Tau Chi fraternity from his campus.
