Nodine waived his arraignment Thursday and his attorney entered the plea for him.

He faces multiple charges in connection with the May shooting.

Downs, a Gulf Shores real estate professional, was found in dead in her driveway by a single gunshot wound to the head.

According to CBS affiliate WKRG, investigators reportedly found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol at the scene, but the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office has not said definitively whether that was the gun that killed Downs.

Nodine was indicted in September and faces a December trial.
