The 36-year-old Longoria was allowed to return to his home early Friday morning after police finished searching it, but was later believed to have stolen a truck and fled the county, according to CBS affiliate KWCH.

A statewide alert was issued Friday morning, but was canceled just after noon the same day when the Kansas Highway Patrol reported that they had made contact with Longoria in neighboring Lincoln County, about 137 miles.

Alicia was reported missing Aug. 21. Days later, her charred body was found just outside the small town of Great Bend, Kan., about 120 miles north of Wichita.
