Abdur-Rahim Added To Olympic Roster

Shareef Abdur-Rahim of the Vancouver Grizzlies was added Monday to the U.S. Olympic basketball team for the Sydney Games.

Abdur-Rahim replaces Grant Hill, who withdrew after breaking his ankle during the NBA playoffs.

In his fourth NBA season, Abdur-Rahim led Vancouver in scoring (20.3 points per game) and rebounding (10.1). He joins 11 other NBA players on the team to be coached by the Houston Rockets' Rudy Tomjanovich.

Team USA will begin training Aug. 26, in Maui, Hawaii, and plays its first exhibition game Aug. 31, against the Canadian national team at the University of Hawaii.
