A Whoopi Goldberg admirer, Lady Gaga tells tale of photo theft

(CBS) - Lady Gaga may have millions in the bank, but could she be a kleptomaniac?

The pop star admitted while on "The View" Monday that she was once caught red-handed stealing a Whoopi Goldberg photo from a hotel.

"I'm a huge, huge, huge Whoopi fan. And there is this one hotel that I stay at there are photos of you everywhere throughout the lobby," she said.

"I went out with my friends one night and we'd had a little bit to drink, and we saw this photo fo you and I said, 'Oh, I love her so much. I just want to take her up to my room,'" she tells the ladies, adding, "So I thought it would be funny to steal the Whoopi [photo] in the back entrance."

Apparently her attempt  was not so discrete.

"Five minutes later, I heard [knocking on the door]" she says. "It was hotel security and they go, 'We're going to need to have Whoopi back.'"
