2-Year-Old Left Alone On Bus For Hours While Driver Allegedly Took A Nap

NEW YORK (CBS) Two-year-old Adrien Long is reportedly safe and sound back in the arms of his family after a terrifying three-hour ordeal when he was left alone on a school bus while the driver allegedly took a nap.

Police say that the Brooklyn toddler was found around 10:30 a.m. by an alert passerby after he heard sobbing coming from inside the bus while walking his dog.

"I went on the bus and the kid was crying. I went over and he hugged my leg," the dog walker, who asked not to be identified, told the New York Post. "He was wearing a blue winter coat, no backpack. His diaper had to be changed."

Police say that the driver, Roberto Isales, and the matron, Seantel-Ruth Thames, picked up the boy at 7:30 a.m. and were supposed to be dropped off at the Infant & Child Learning Center in Prospect-Lefferts Garden.

But after discharging the children at 8:30 a.m., the driver and matron never noticed that the boy was still on the bus, police said.

The understandably upset father of little Adrien told reporters through the intercom of his building that Isales and Thames are responsible for his son's cruel ordeal.

"They are lucky the cops got to them first," the boy's father said.
