A 100th birthday party for the venerable Plaza Hotel was held in New York on Monday night, Oct. 1, 2007. The Plaza hotel, the setting for Truman Capote's Black and White Ball and home to the fictional Eloise, celebrated the milestone woith a dazzling fireworks display and a one-ton cake.
