Day 11: Obama Focuses On Middle Class

(CBS)
On his 11th day in office, President Obama announced the creation of a Middle Class Task Force led by Vice President Joe Biden.

"Quite simply, a strong middle class equals a strong America. We can’t have one without the other. … It is our charge to get the middle class - the backbone of this country - up and running again," Biden said.

The president also reversed a number of George W. Bush's executive orders that critics suggested were bad for labor unions.

And he continued to fight off criticism of his stimulus bill, such as that offered by Sen. Richard Shelby, who said, "it's a bad piece of legislation."
