McCain “Fine Gold” and a Special Guest on Saturday Night Live

(CBS)
From CBS News’ John Bentley:
(NEW YORK) – The real John McCain and the fake Sarah Palin – played by Tina Fey – opened up Saturday Night Live tonight with an infomercial of their own, poking fun at Barack Obama’s infomercial last week. McCain explained that he was truly a maverick – “a Republican without money” – so he and Palin had to run their infomercial on QVC, instead of major networks, and sell products as well.
McCain offered up some “fine gold” (a play on the McCain-Feingold bill he sponsored), which was shown off by his wife, Cindy. Fey surreptitiously hawked some “Palin 20212” t-shirts, telling the audience that if she wasn’t going to White House, she was running in four years or she was going to be the “white Oprah.”
McCain also tried to sell a set of plates commemorating the 10 town hall meetings between him and Obama (blank plates, since those didn’t happen) and a set of John McCain pork knives (to, you know, cut out the pork), before giving the show’s signature line, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”

No, the Palins were not present when Vogler accidently blew himself up. However, according to the nonpartisan FactCheck.org: Palin%u2019s husband, Todd, was registered with AIP from October 1995 to July 2000, and again from September 2000 until July 2002. Palin was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party %u2013 which calls for a vote on whether Alaska should secede from the union or remain a state, but Palin went to the 2000 AIP convention, held in Wasilla, %u201Cas a courtesy since she was mayor.%u201D As governor, Palin sent a video message to the 2008 convention, which is available on YouTube, and the AIP says she attended in 2006 when she was campaigning.
The video message to the 2008 convention is spooky odd. She is sitting in front of the Alaska State Seal and in an upbeat manner welcoming the members to the 2008 convention, apparently legitimizing the group. Weird. And what the heck is she doing campaigning at a secessionist party''s convention?!!!
"A true Maverick. A Republican without money."
That will be the byline for this Election.

Are some postings on other pages about this story who say they think McCain was, in a fashion, telegraphing a concession to the Election in this SNL skit.
Did sorta look that way.
Know this for sure ...
He did it with a smile on his face - True Grit.
But, he had too many years of practice at that way back.
And know you know what I mean.
