En Route to a Halloween Party, Obama Gets Irked by the Press

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(CHICAGO) Barack Obama made a quick stop home this afternoon to take his daughters to a Halloween party. But, after a television crew got too close to him, Obama became a bit annoyed.

Obama and youngest daughter, Sasha, who was dressed in a corpse bride costume, walked down the street on their way to friend, Marty Nesbitt’s home. The protective press pool did not initially know that Obama would be walking to Nesbitts home, so when they got wind of the movement, they hustled to get a shot of the family. Obama became visibly irritated at the site of media and said, “All right guys, that’s enough. You got a shot. Leave us alone.”

However, the situation became more tense when a Polish TV crew and a local TV crew got too close to Obama. Holding Sasha’s hand, Obama began to walk quicker and eventually jogged away. A reporter on the scene described it as a “determined trot.”

Later, at a rally in Highland, Ind., Obama took the opportunity to jab his opponent with a holiday-related joke.

“You know, I just came back – my girls were doing some trick or treating and you know Malia and Sasha each year, every year they’ve got trouble deciding what they want to be for Halloween – but John McCain didn’t have that problem. Just like every year he’s going as George W. Bush!”

The worse McCain is in the polls the more the Republicans act borish and rude. Showing their true colors as childish, selfish people it seems.

The "Andy Martin"post is a prime example of the horrible "STUFF"that people pump out in the final days before an election.

Note there is NO reference point given for us to check quickly on the internet. Only an asserttion by the poster that says "the state of Hawaii" has vindicated the Martin assertion and proven the CNN reports, FactCheck, and others are liars.

Since the dawn of the radio age, this stuff has been spread near election day. A charge is made and there is no time to verify anything said in it.

STOP. Believe NOTHING in the way of allegations from supporters of EITHER candidate now.

(HONOLULU)(November 1, 2008) Internet powerhouse Andy Martin has ignited a firestorm in Hawai''i over Barack Obama''s bogus "original" birth certificate. Martin won a stunning victory Friday afternoon (October 31st) when the State of Hawai''i backed his assertion that there was an original, "typewritten, 1961" birth certificate, called a "Certificate of Live Birth" or "COLB" in Hawai''i, that no one has previously seen. Hawai''i officials retrieved and examined the document after Martin filed a lawsuit seeking access to the historic 1961 original.

Obama has falsely claimed to have placed the "original" on the Internet. Factcheck.org has falsely claimed to have seen this document and posted it on the Internet; that is not true. CNN has falsely ridiculed Martin.

Hawai''i officials have now refuted Obama''s false assertion.

Martin''s victory in Honolulu will roil the final weekend of the presidential campaign. Internet chatter is expected to explode as the issue moves to the front page over Saturday and Sunday. Swing voters may be swayed by the exposure that Obama has brazenly been lying to the American people. "We just lobbed a grenade into the final weekend of the presidential campaign," says Andy.

"I am ecstatic. I called Obama a liar. I called Factcheck.org ''ObamaLies.org.'' I said CNN was sloppy and lazy and wrong. And I was right. The State of Hawai''i has now backed me up.

I praise Obama for his protectiveness and wishing to be left alone for family time. In contrast Sarah Palin enjoys the spotlight and continues to shamelessly use her kids as political props and shields as applicable.

The Republicans like to use "hot button" issues--to manipulate people so that they can continue to exploit us to make large sums of money for a few rich. They really do not believe in equality and they do not care about people. While we are arguing about abortion and homosexuality, they are taking our money. McCain is a little too foggy to fully get it and beside he wants to protect his fortune. Corruption is so high that it threatens democracy itself. Folks--remember --Rome fell and they lasted longer than we have so far. Our country is in danger! As we continue to fall in prestige in the eyes of the world and if we continue with a poor economy, we will be at risk for attacks from the outside. Our greatest security is a strong middle class. It is dwindling---with more and more families living in poverty and the rich getting richer. The Republican machine is set to perpetuate this. Vote Obama!

So even now Obama doesn''t know whom he is running against. Sad to have such illusions--NOT THE MAN WE NEED AS PRESIDENT!

I am not voting for Senator Obama but I do agree that the press should leave his moments with his daughter or daughters private. They get very little time with him because of the campaigning demands. Let them enjoy what moments they can without distractions and intrusions.

you know, everyone, no matter what their public profile might be, should be able to have private moments. when he told the press that they had their shot and they should back off, that''s exactly what they should have done. as to the coverage of his trip to visit his ailing grandmother, that was newsworthy because he was taking a break during the last two weeks of the campaign. i didn''t notice the press hanging out trying to get pictures of him then...

The comment by Obama at the end of the story is so Cheney like.
They all seem to morph into the same molds, don''t they?

Sorry, wrong.

The ''financial mess'' is a direct result of wasteful American habits like big cars and guzzling gas.

Which was showing itself by the time of Nixon.

And which Carter tried to warn us about, but was laughed out of office by the Nation who wanted Reagan telling us it was ''Morning in America'' - everything is ok, eat, drink, and be merry - we will pay the bills another day.

So, DemWatcher, YOU may want to:

''Get YOUR history straight, bubba.''

Wow, Demwatcher, not even republican strategists agree with that one. I am not a democrat, at all, but trying to blame this economic problem on a democratic regime in the seventies, I mean wow, stretch. Wow. Holy cow, Wow.

Oh really? This financial mess was started by Carter and expanded on by Clinton and supported by Obama; and the consequences were warned to Congress by McCain.

Get your history straight, bubba.

The CEOs of CBS, ABC, and NBC are all registered Republicans. Each one of these networks is owned by a parent corporation, and the CEO of each of these parent corporations is a registered Republican. Republicans own- literally own- every major news outlet in America. Yet, radical extremist Neo-Cons are still crying about a "liberal media." There is no liberal media in America. There never has been. We have the most Conservative media of any democracy on the planet.

Oh? everyone has their limits- including Lady Diana in the UK, her fiance and driver who were KILLED a decade ago trying to get some peace away from the prying annoying press and flashbulbs going off in their faces every 2 seconds. Obama was spending private time with his FAMILY after a long difficult campaign most anyone would drop exhausted trying to keep up with all the travel and appearances, and on the ONE special night he wanted to spend with his kids the press is horning in with their flashbulbs, dam right it would be annoying.

I was shocked this morning, when I heard Gov. Schwarzenegger say that Sen. Barack Obama should use some of the millions he collected in contributions to his Presidential campaign to pay the Wall Street Banks, financial firms, etc., to help with the financial crisis they created. For at least a month, I''ve heard nothing but accusations of "socialism" spew from Johnny McSame''s campaign. Now, that same campaign is calling for communism in its rankest form, when it wants to confiscate the wealth of individuals and spread it among individuals and financial institutions, which were too stupid to manage their own wealth. Come of Johnny McSame, you senile old phart, you were standing right next to the terminator, when he made these comments. I want to know whether you are a freaking communist like your campaign buddy. Obama/Biden 2008!!!
