Obama: McCain's in Cahoots With "Joe the CEO"

(CBS)
(RICHMOND, VA.) - Barack Obama brought two more Joe’s to the spotlight today, “Joe the Hedge Fund Manager” and “Joe the CEO,” as he continued to aggressively defend his tax plan. During a rally at the Richmond Coliseum, Obama argued that he is on "Joe the Plumber’s" side while the more affluent Joes are allied with John McCain.
“Joe’s cool, I got no problems with Joe. All I want to do is give Joe a tax cut,” he said referring the Ohio plumber.
“But let’s be clear who John McCain’s fighting for. He’s not fighting for 'Joe the Plumber', he’s fighting for 'Joe the Hedge Fund Manager'. John McCain likes to talk about 'Joe the Plumber' but he’s in cahoots with 'Joe the CEO.'”
McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds quickly responded to the charge, noting that Obama met with Google CEO Eric Schmidt in Florida yesterday. “Not only was he meeting with rich CEOs yesterday, it’s Barack Obama who has taken more campaign cash from ‘Joe Hedge Fund’ than any other candidate,” Bounds said in a statement.
At the rally, Obama made several attempts to explain and defend his plan to roll back the Bush tax cuts.
“Let me just see a show of hands – how many people make less than a quarter million,” Obama asked the crowd of more than 10,000. After the majority raised their hand, Obama promised cut their taxes and said he was willing to raise his own.
“I do want to roll back the Bush tax cuts for people like me, I don’t need a tax cut. I didn’t need it back in 2000, or 2001, 2002,” he explained. “So me rolling back those tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans so we can give relief to the nurse to the teacher and the bus driver and the janitor.”

See all 24 CommentsThe special interests and lobby groups want to buy government decisions on the cheap and take advantage of Americans without having to deal with the complex results that might cripple our nation. We are too lax about the possibility that we might be represented by those from the bottom of their class and that we might be making it easy for the special interest lobby groups to take advantage of us. Again!!!
We have lost planes due to neglect in the timely study of flight manuals. We have lost lives and livelihood due to neglect in the timely study of intelligence information. We have lost a solid economy due to neglect in the timely study of needed regulations and deregulations. We have lost our standing in the world due to neglect in the timely study of diplomacy and when and how to successfully use it. Our country has had to have an expensive surge with financial payments to those who would oppose and expensive bailouts with hopes that these, although expensive, will fix some of the poor judgment and will work in the long run.
BERG v. OBAMA et al
Plaintiff Philip J. Berg alleged that Defendant Barack Obama is not eligible for the Office of the President because Obama lost his U.S. citizenship when his mother married an Indonesian citizen and naturalized in Indonesia. Plaintiff further alleged that Obama followed her naturalization and failed to take an oath of allegiance when he turned 18 years old to regain his U.S. citizenship status.
Our Constitution is at risk. Where is the MEDIA???Obama has been asked by the courts to prove his eligibility to be President by providing proof of citizenship. Mr. Berg is a lawyer and a Democrat. As of yesterday neither Obama nor the DNC has provided evidence and over the past month has filed motion after motion to dismiss this lawsuit filed in Philadelphia PA. Why not just produce the proof and end the mystery? Follow the link and read the actual court filed documentshttp://docs.justia.com/cases/fe

-281573/ If Obama is elected and it is later discovered that he is not a citizen then the Constitution is useless.
2ND, the PRESIDENT DOES NOT CONTROL THE ECONOMY, THE CONGRESS DOES!And it''s been going in the crapper ever since America voted for "change" in 2006 when the dems. took over.
The scariest part about Obama is the fact that the leaders of Iran, the Hamas, and Qadaffi himself have made comments supporting his presidency.
Is this the america you want?
McCain would be bad on security because he is impetuous and too ideological. He is erratic in a crisis. Too old now Im afraid. And his running mate is insane she doesnt even know what the job of a VP is and she isnt uncorrupted.
These guys are desperate: they almost called Obama a terrorist, called him a socialist and next week will probably call him a UFO.
It doesnt stick. They have run out of ideas, have weak character, have underestimated the american people.
Time for a change.
Just reinforces the fact that these leftists are all talk and then balk.
Anyone wonder why so many wealthy people support Obama - for example, celebrities - even though they would receive tax increases? It''s because they are smart enough to realize that means the middle class will have more money to spend on THEIR businesses. So really that small tax raise means MORE money in their pockets.

In case you haven''t noticed Karl is dead. Stupidity is alive though. Thanks for proving the point.
As usual, the McCain talking airheads spin a web of mis-information. Obama was meeting with FINANCIAL and business persons for the purpose of exploring ways to get out of the Wall St fiasco and insure this never happens again. Being bedfellows with CEOs is McCain''s turf.
Obama takes action whereas McCain only takes another breath to spew out empty and ever changing ''plans''.
You want things done and done correctly? Vote Obama.
You want more empty promises and repeated screw-ups? Vote McCain.
