Palin Tries To Recapture McCain’s N.H. Magic

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(DOVER, N.H.) Her native Alaska may be half a world away from New Hampshire, but at a high school gymnasium rally here, Sarah Palin portrayed herself as a kindred spirit to the crowd of a little more than 1,000 people—the smallest that has greeted her on the campaign trail yet.

“I know that we can count on the good people of New Hampshire because you’re a lot like the people of Alaska,” Palin said. “We all love good moose hunting, I know that, and we both so enjoy our great lands: the clean water, and the fresh air, and the abundant wildlife and good fishing. We love being outdoors. I know that that is New Hampshire also, and we both, too, take seriously your state’s motto—I think it should be ours also—‘Live Free Or Die.’”

Palin continued to embrace her role as the underdog, claiming that her running mate was also counted out before the New Hampshire primary 9 months ago.

“You know, just last January, the critics had counted John McCain out and they said there is no way that he would win the primary up here,” Palin said. “He was down in the polls, but the people of New Hampshire went to the voting booth and they turned the underdog into the victor.”

Though McCain did trail Mitt Romney in New Hampshire throughout the fall of 2007, McCain consistently led the Republican field after Dec. 27 and was ahead in 16 of the last 20 state polls taken before Primary Day on Jan. 8.

Palin annoys me more and more every day. Enough with the "doggone it" and "you betcha" stupidity. And enough about moose hunting. Our country isn''t a PTA meeting and the average American doesn''t wish to adorn his walls with the hide of some poor animal that someobody shot for the fun of it.

If Sarah misuses her power as a governor, what would you expect as VP? Yes, she was a very, very bad choice.

McCain made a truly horrible pick for Vice President. What was he thinking? He''s 72 years old and has had repeated bouts with cancer! Can any of us really imagine a President Palin? The thought is frightening-she is far more ignorant and inexperienced than our current president was when he took office, and we have seen what a disaster he created: The occupation of Iraq, the hunt for Bin Laden, Katrina, Wall Street and the banking deregulation fiasco have combined to create a perfect storm of misery for the US.

"That%u2019s why I say I, like every American I%u2019m speaking with, we%u2019re ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Helping the%u2014it%u2019s got to be all about job creation too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans and trade%u2014we%u2019ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as competitive, scary thing, but one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today%u2014we%u2019ve got to look at that as more opportunity."

This an exact quote of Palin''s response to the question regarding whether or not the Wall Street bailout was a good idea.

The sad truth is that, for all the "just like me" women who follow Palin like little lost puppies, most of us know bad when we see it. She''s not qualified; she''s not even close. McCain would probably still be in a fight because of the economy, but it''s a fight he might''ve won if he''d chosen someone credible. With the economy and foreign policy both front and center for the foreseeable future, she''s useless. God forbid something happens to McCain, but as Americans, it would be irresponsible of us to not think about the implications of that with Palin as next in line. I love my country too much to risk putting it into the hands of someone so utterly clueless.

The problem is not McCain but it is Palin she is his down fall. She is self-center and a big LIAR even when confronted with the truth.

The Post-Palin Bounce is coming. McCain is going to prove to be a man who can and will admit that he made a mistake and take action to correct it. This of course stands in stark contrast to George W. Bush''s arrogance. I hope my man Barack is prepared!

Sarah Palin is responsible for a Tax on Oil leaving the State of Alaaaaaskah that she turned over in cash incentives to every Alaskan Citizen (about $2,000) that WE IN THE LOWER FORTY HAD TO PAY FOR IN HIGHER GASOLINE PRICES!

Palin bought her election and is corrupt with Big Oil as the Bush Administration has been.

The McCain campaign could have used a bigger venue for the Dover visit.

A fire official said that 1,300 people were in the gym. Hundreds turned away were allowed to gather outside the building and listen to Palin on speakers. Hundreds more simply left.

After her speech, Palin went outside to speak briefly to a crowd of people who couldn''t get into to the gymnasium.

Survey USA''s latest poll shows that Obama is winning New Hampshire by 13. Even Rasmussen, who regularly appears as a pundit on Fox News, shows Obama up by 10. I don''t think that the rock solid practical no nonsense people of New Hampshire are going to be overly impressed by a low information forty four year old woman who goes on national TV and acts like a flirty high school girl in order to win the keys to the White House. This is serious business and far more important than making the cheer leading team. Only serious adults need apply

Dear Sarah, the Lord has chosen to bless Barack Obama and Joe Biden with the privilege to be President and VP. He thanks you for your application to the position of VP and suggests more prayer, more witchcraft expulsions and repentance for your sins of bearing false witness against your neighbor and for coveting. We wish you well in your future ventures.
Sincerely, the UNITED States of America

MEET SARAH PALIN%u2019S RADICAL RIGHT-WING PALS
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/

Extremists Mark Chryson and Steve Stoll helped launch Palin%u2019s political career in Alaska, and in return had influence over policy. %u201CHer door was open,%u201D says Chryson %u2014 and still is.

Though Chryson belongs to a fringe political party that advocates the secession of Alaska from the Union, he is not without peculiar influence in state politics, especially the rise of Sarah Palin. During the 1990s, when Chryson directed the AIP, he and another radical right-winger, Steve Stoll, played pivotal role in electing Palin as mayor of Wasilla and shaping her political agenda afterward. Both Stoll and Chryson not only contributed to Palin%u2019s campaign financially, they played major behind-the-scenes roles in the Palin camp before, during and after her victory.

Palin backed Chryson as he successfully advanced a host of anti-tax, pro-gun initiatives, including one that altered the state Constitution%u2019s language to better facilitate the formation of anti-government militias. She joined in their vendetta against several local officials they disliked, and listened to their advice about hiring. She attempted to name Stoll, a John Birch Society activist to an empty Wasilla City Council seat. %u201CEvery time I showed up her door was open,%u201D said Chryson. %u201CAnd that policy continued when she became governor.%u201D

EVEN the WORld is talking-
"Palin is a woman who can''t even tell the truth about the most quotidian and public details of her own life, never mind about matters of major public import. In her only vice-presidential debate, she was shallow, mendacious and phoney. What kind of maverick, after all, keeps harping on what a maverick she is? That her performance was considered anything but a farce doesn''t show how high Palin has risen, but how low we all have sunk"-

SARAH PALIN "PALS AROUND WITH" and is MARRIED TO A TRAITOR TO AMERICA

PALIN and "ALASKA INDEPENDENCE PARTY"

The Alaskan Independence Party (AIP) believes:
-- Alaska must SECEDE FROM THE UNITED STATES (can you say "49 states"?)
-- That "the vote for Alaskan statehood was invalid"
-- End ALL environmental regulation
-- TURN OVER All government lands to private parties
-- "INFILTRATE" THE MAJOR PARTIES TO OBTAIN ALASKAN INDEPENDENCE

WHAT IS THE EXTENT OF PALIN''S RELATIONSHIP TO THE AIP?

PALIN BELONGED TO THE AIP. A fact corroborated by the AIP until Palin was picked as VP candidate. Then the AIP suddenly changed their story.

PALIN''S HUSBAND SUPPORTED and BELONGED TO THE AIP until his wife ran for governor..

THE AIP SUPPORTED PALIN FOR GOVERNOR.

Vice Chairman of the AIP, Dexter Clark revealed this year:
"the one we were hoping would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected... She was an AIP member before she got the job as a mayor of a small town, that was a non-partisan job. But you get along to go along, she eventually joined the Republican Party"

Sarah Palin recorded a nice message to the AIP Convention THIS YEAR, saying that the party "plays an important role in our state''s politics" and that "we have a great promise to be a self-sufficient state."

Is Sarah Palin a radical Alaskan secessionist? She certainly believes in them, "PALS AROUND WITH THEM, and she belonged to their party before it became politically expedient for her to join the Republicans...

HA! "Live free or Die". She''s such a buffoon.

How many New Hampshire voters, or voters anywhere, would agree with what Palin terms her "bonding" of church and state by using public funding for her Evangelic and church-related purposes? Such as her religious charity "Carry the Cure" in public schools, or her spending more than $13000 in public funds to travel to religious events.

How many people would find it frightening the fact that Todd Palin''s being a member of the AIP would make him ineligible in most cases for a government position or even a contractor''s position with the goverment, if that position put him in contact with sensitive or classified information. And here his wife is running for VPOTUS?!?

Considering that if Todd Palin were to apply for a job with the US government or even to work as a contractor that would put him in contact with sensitive classified information, he''d be ineligible due to his association with the AIP - I think the entire US as well as the Republican party have a LOT to worry about. Why was this not taken into consideration before she was tapped to run for VPOTUS?

What''s so bad about the AIP? The AIP has long been aligned closely with paramilitary militia groups. Under the leadership of AIP''s tough-talking founder Joe Vogler, AIP allied itself with the Islamic dictatorship in Iran in 1993 so that Vogler could appear at the United Nations to appeal for Alaska''s freedom from US "tyranny."
