Man At Palin Rally Displays Monkey Doll Donning Obama Sticker

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(PHILADELPHIA) As the crowd cheered at a Sarah Palin rally this morning in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a man in the audience grinned as he held up a stuffed monkey doll with a Barack Obama bumper sticker wrapped across its forehead.

The incident came at a time when McCain and Palin’s events have increasingly been fueled by angry crowds, since Palin began drawing a connection between Barack Obama and 1960s radical William Ayers, claiming that the Democratic nominee has a history of “palling around” with a terrorist.

At a rally in Lakeville, Minnesota, on Friday, McCain was booed after he called on his audience to be respectful of Obama. The Republican nominee took the microphone away from one woman who said she couldn’t trust Obama because “he’s an Arab.”

After Palin finished her remarks this morning, the man holding the stuffed monkey seemed to notice that a video camera was pointed at him, at which point he removed the Obama sticker from the doll’s head and crumpling it up in his hand. He then handed the doll to a young boy who was watching the rally from his father’s shoulders. The boy’s parents later told CBS News that they weren’t acquainted with the man who gave their son the stuffed monkey.

Those who wish to judge an entire town based upon the actions of one individual should look out their window and gaze upon their own town. What do you see? It is probably a town not that different than mine. A town of many cultures and much history. Should I then judge you, your citizens, your town based upon the actions of one individual in your hometown? I think not, because to do so would demonstrate ignorance.

These redneck bigots and Sarah Palin deserve each other. Let''s see if they will follow her back to Alaska when they lose and she is facing impeachment. Talk about a "monkey on her back". These hateful people should be prosecuted for threatening a presidential candidate.

LOL. Another classy Palin groupie. And then he is a coward to boot. Big-bad monkey boy until he was caught on tape. I guess the collective IQ at these rallies must be about 20 if this guy never heard of camera''s or cam-corders.

She is less than intelligent and a racist to boot. And, what is with this Alaska Independence stuff..."keep up the good work come on ya''ll. I never really spent that much time around black people. My opinions of them come from tv and music. Now I see Obama, smart, poised, patient, respectful...there must be more of them out there like that. I work with some that seem okay...People, please get a clue. At this point, I don''t care what color Obama is. I don''t care that his name is Hussein. McCain is too old and Palin is a shameful representation of women. I''m votin'' for Obama. Count me in. I''ve given up my fear of the dark. lol

You know, since these are open events a couple Obama operatives are quite capable of going to create the visuals the press needs to advance their narrative. Too bad the guy wasnt wearing an NRA shirt. Psyops at Obama HQ missed a good twofer.

Your slightly unhinged ad hominem attack basically made my point for me.

Obama supporters, when threatened by cogent argument or even simple disagreement, seem unable to do anything except call people names or label them racists.

For the record:

Ayers didn''t act "Crazy". It was ideologically motivated and very well thought out planning. You insult crazy people by equating his actions with people who have mental illnesses.

The Keating scandal pales in comparison to today''s crisis, the root cause of which can be laid at the feet of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank who mandated that Freddie and Fannie buy Subprime Mortgages.

On the topic of Obama''s Economic Plan: 5 Nobel Prize Economists have suggested that it will be a disaster for the country, hardly the sort of policy that will benefit "ALL AMERICANS"

PS: Please make sure you disable Caps Lock before typing. It makes you look ... unsophisticated.

So, a random, unidentified guy with a stuffed monkey is "news", but Obama''s many connections and $800,000 contribution to ACORN''s massive voter registration fraud is just a sideshow?

Dan Rather may be gone, but CBS''s agenda remains the same. Can we really afford 4 more years of CBS''s failed reporting and insular partisanship?

AND WHY DO THESE OBAMA HATERS CONSTANTLY TALK ABOUT AYERS? DO YOU REALIZE THAT WAS 40 YEARS AGO AND HE IS A RESPECTED PROFESSOR NOW. AND HOW ABOUT THE KEATING FIVE. THAT WASN''T THAT LONG AGO. IRAN-CONTRA? HOW SOON DO WE FORGET ABOUT MCCAIN''S TRUE FLAWS. OBAMA WAS 8 WHEN MR. AYERS WAS ACTING CRAZY. LET''S GET REAL. LITTLE LEVI HAS QUIT SCHOOL TO GET A JOB TO SUPPORT BRISTOL. CINDY MCCAIN WAS A DRUG ADDICT. PALIN PROVED TO BE THE VENGEFUL SISTER-IN-LAW FROM HELL. BEFORE YOU IDIOTS START THROWING BRICKS REMEMBER YOU LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE!!

whosaid1: Thanks for your response. I didn''t grow up in the deep south. I grew up within spitting distance of the Mason-Dixon line. I believe its proximity had something to do with the power of the klan when I lived there, as well as for many years prior to that, dating back before the civil war. I now live in a state well known for having rednecks and have close relationships with many of them and when they say to me that Obama is a Muslim, I say to them "so what you''re really sahing is, ''Obama is a n****r''" and they tell me I''m right. I suppose I should have said "key Republican phrases among Republicans I know (and possibly some others)."

I''m also well aware of the color prejudice that exists among blacks. "The light child is the right child."

saikO, YOU ARE AN IDIOT. RACISM IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN THIS RACE. IF YOU IDIOTS COULD LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE, THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD NOT SEE THAT OBAMA''S IDEAS WILL BENEFIT ALL AMERICANS. OR IS THE WHITE SHEET OVER YOUR HEAD CLOUDING YOUR VISION?
