In Pa., Obama Slams Palin, Praises Native Son Biden

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(ABINGTON, PA.) Barack Obama praised his running mate, and Pennsylvania native, Joe Biden today for performance at the debate, saying that the “Scranton boy done good.”

“I was so proud of Joe,” Obama said today, “America, I think, saw clearly why I felt he would be such a great vice president.”

Although he doesn’t often talk about Sarah Palin on the campaign trail, Obama blasted her today for suggesting at the debate that his economic policies are “job killing.”

“I wonder if she turned on the news this morning?” Obama asked. Taking note of this morning’s jobs report, which showed a loss of 159,000 jobs in September, Obama argued that McCain’s economic policies would only perpetuate the declining economy.

“When Senator McCain and his running mate talk about job killing, that’s something they know a thing or two about because the policies they’re supporting are killing jobs every single day,” Obama said.

He later suggested that McCain is pandering to voters by arguing for more regulation of Wall Street.

“He hasn’t been getting tough on CEOs. He hasn’t been getting tough on Wall Street,” Obama said, “So suddenly a crisis comes and the polls change and suddenly he’s out there talkin’ like Jesse Jackson. Come on!”

This disabled vet is tired of Hanoi Jane wannabes like you who have been emasculated by the liberal party ans so high on their illegal drugs trying to lie and justify their anti-American positions. You probably are so mentally ill you couldn''t even join the military because if you would have you would understand why the largest majority of miltary won''t vote for Dems. Even if we don''t get everything we desrve from Republican administrations itis always more than the Democrats do for Vets. So take your insults elsewhere because you keep showing your stupidity by supporting the know nothing, do nothing, accomplished nothing socialist Obama.

Sarah Palin is a Washington outsider that will just attempt to represent Americans from shore-to-shore. America needs someone like her that can tell right from wrong. That is ALL the experience needed in Washington. Without it we are all screwed.

Hey Cobra06252 how much are you getting paid to Post? I doubt that you ever served in the military. If you did, then Sarah Palin pulled the wool over your eyes. I think that you should see a doctor.... No wait John McCain voted against the GI Bill. Do you even have medical coverage ?

As a member of the Active Military, I respect the Senator for his son''s service and I agree he knew how to present his case. Gov. Palin showed her strengths as communicator and demonstrated why she is so popular back home with the "Average" American. Senator Biden''s problem was that he lied or "misrepresented the truth", 10 times. I''m voting for the ticket that looks least like a traditional ticket. The choice is easy for me... I either vote for a Chicago, Defeatist, Socialist who voted against the American Soldier and his Northeast Liberal Career Politician who called him on it and then backtracked when given the chance to be VP, or the a true American Hero, (politician granted), who has spoken his mind and throughout his career and his VP who, although green, has more potential for leadership than anyone I''ve seen, male or female, in the last 10 years. I truly shake my head in wonder at the crazy comments Obama makes about world issues and diplomacy. For all the talk about his tough , young life, this guy stepped out of that world a long time ago and had a silver shovel, (Harvard), stuffed into his mouth. Joe...why? I could have understood a vote for you...but you sold out... so forget it.

Remmenber those who serve so the rest of you can whine!

Sarah Palin performed remarkably well at the debate. I actually saw Keith Olbermann complement her afterwards. I had to put it in slow-mo to verify. She''s definitely going to be a superstar in the future. In my opinion (I''ll hold back on any passionated comments), Joe Biden was only okay. Despite the fact that he has served in the senate for many years, I really didn''t get excited about him. Hopefully the McCain-Palin efforts will be driven to fruition on November 4th!

I am shocked at what the Media is saying about Palin. Did I missed something at the debates? Palin did what she does best. Being a Puppet reading notes, and staged questions. Biden came off as Informative, Strong, Clear Answers and Caring. I really admire him after this debate.

Anyone notice that Palin was practically reading off of the notes that the McCain campaign provided her?

This was supposedly a "Vice President worth performance"? What a joke.

Biden wiped the floor with her. She''s so far out of her league. What is really frightening is how effectively a Presidential campaign can cover for an incredibly weak V.P. nominee. You could conclude the BOZO would stand a chance with enough talking-points cheat-notes and makeup.

I am outraged at the commentators who say that Sarah Palin was "sensational" or did a great job last night. Granted, she did much better than her Katie Couric interview. But if all she had to do was "look straight into the cameras" while she talk her backwoods talk, then the bar for her was extrememly low. Tammy Fey could have memorized those lines just as she did and looked straight into the camera with a smile as she said the exact same thing; it probably would have been more entertaining. If she was VP, I think McCain would not let her talk or make any decisions just as he shields her now and coaxes her to memorize lines. While I think she is an intelligent woman, but she is way out of her field and I think she proved it last night.

I have to concur that Senator Joe Biden is far more qualified to serve as VP than Governor Sara Palin. His performance last night was outstanding. He answered the questions asked, including the one about an Achiles heel. Govenor Palin delivered only the talking points she had practiced in the Republican boot camp in Sedonna, AZ.
