Obama Blasts McCain on Economy

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(DENVER) - Barack Obama thinks that he has found his secret weapon against John McCain – the economy.

For the second day today, Obama will argue that he “gets it” and McCain does not when it comes to the crisis on Wall Street and improving the economy. The campaign released an ad this morning called “Fundamentals” which focuses on McCain’s statement yesterday that the “fundamentals of our economy are strong.”

“How can John McCain fix our economy if he doesn’t understand it’s broken?” the narrator asks. The ad will run on cable and in battleground states.

Yesterday, the McCain campaign passed around an interview with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, where he supports McCain’s statement.

"I do agree that fundamentally America has an economy that is strong," Bloomberg told the Politco. "I'd rather play America's hand than any other country," he said.

Obama will deliver a speech today at the Colorado School of Mines where he will call for more regulation of the financial industry.

Myself, I think the McCain ad depicting Obama as the big black predator trying to awaken your children with seks-ed before kindergarten so he can come get them at night when in fact Barack was trying to write further PROTECTION guarantees for children from predators into Illinois law is perilous for McA-hole. Karl Rove even said as much on FAUX Newz Sunday morning.

Anyone else?

Oh, and one other thing that is pertinent as your retirement nestegg rides off into the sunset without you.......I am sure most already know but, if not......the man responsible for legislation de-regulating financial firms was none other than former Senator Phil Gramm R-Tx who has been McCains campaign co-chair and economic adviser. Its relative right now as DOW is in freefall and crooks scoop your money off the table. SEVEN-out, line away, pay the shorts!

Obama has addressed the Ayers (lack of ) association, He%u2019s NOT raising taxes, (with the exception of the tax breaks that Bush and McCain are touting to the top 1% will lapse).
And, $28,500 a plate dinner is hardly an issue except that there are a lot of people discontented with the GOP.

All The McCain camp needs to do is ask one question of Obama. How does raising taxes help a declining economy? If raising taxes was so helpful, Michigan should lead the country in economic growth. Instead, under the leadership of a tax raising governor, they have been hit even HARDER than the rest of the country by the slowdown.

McCain%u2019s Economic Advisor Phil Gramm still insists that the recession (or, depression) is simply a figment of our imagination and we are all nothing but a nation of %u201Cwhiners!%u201D

Vote in favor of genuine government.
