“Respect”+”Love”=McCain/Palin?

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(LEBANON, Ohio) At a rally in front of the “oldest hotel in Ohio” in this idyllic small town, one man in the crowd of 5,500 people held a sign that seems to have summed up the sentiments of many conservatives: “America Respects John McCain. America Loves Sarah Palin.”

(CBS)

It’s that “love” that seems to be drawing such large and enthusiastic crowds to McCain/Palin rallies. Many in Lebanon wore Palin pins and brought homemade signs to the event, such as one that read, “Ohio Hearts Sarah & The 1st Dude.”

If the Republican ticket were The Beatles, and the crowd in Lebanon like screaming teenagers at the Ed Sullivan Show, Palin, in the eyes of many, is the ticket’s Paul McCartney, while McCain would be more like George Harrison. As long as the Republicans keep climbing in the polls, the Arizona senator seems just fine with that perception.

That is actually funny to compare Sarah Palin to Paul McCartney. I dont think Paul would feel quite the same way as Sarah when it comes to the poor polar bears she is trying to make extinct faster to keep Alaska''s economy going.

It seems that people need a lot more information. I thought people wanted Bush out? Then why vote for McCain who agrees with 90% of what bush says? And why would you support a women who is against other women''s rights? This is 2008 people.. Regardless what you believe in yourself you cant try to control other people''s opinions. To believe that Sarah Palin is the victim of sexual discrimination is insane. She is the one who wants to live as cavemen and impose her views on an entire country. I hope that everyone will realize what these people actually stand for before election time. If America keeps referring to itself as a modern westernized country then shouldnt it act like it?

Do not speak for me Ohio...... That''s what is wrong with this Country. A hand full of people make a statement. And, all of a sudden. We all feel the same way. Wrong! Is this news worthy?

You insisted that Hillary''s Supporters would shift over to Obama after they were done pouting... It is that type of sexist attitude in the media that is bringing us over to McCain/Palin. We are women over 40 who understand Sales & Marketing - many of us are in that field ourselves & we are not going to buy the Pepsi like Campaign that won Barack the Nomination. "We''re the Ones We''ve Been Waiting For" - you expected us to be stupid enough to buy that ***. We''re intelligent - we see through both the Covert attacks from the Obama Campaign just as easily as the Overt ones from all the rest. We do our homework - we read everything we can get our hands or eyes on and we read between the lines. The media has manipulated the election process from the beginning and we will not be told who to vote for. Warning: The more you smear Sarah Palin, the more determined we will be out there garnering votes for the McCain/Palin ticket. Believe it - Report it - It''s True!

This is the corniest article ever. Now who is the celebrity? McCain/Palin has simply been parroting Obama. They have adopted the democratic platform. You can not trust right wing republicans, period! If we elect McCain/Palin nothing will change. Vicko wrote; "threw their bra''s and panties at Obama", where do I sign up! Obama/Biden 2008!

Conroy, you do not seem to GET it.
I went to the rally today in Ohio fully expecting to see Palin the "star". Forget about it.. McCain stole the show! As for being at a Beatle''s concert, it was far the cry. Here at UC the Democrats threw their bra''s and panties at Obama. Isn''t that SPECIAL?

I don%u2019t see why you don%u2019t do some real reporting on McCain.

Suddenly he is for %u201Cchanging%u201D Washington, but his record is of being cozy with lobbyists and not really opposed to earmarks. You do not have to go back to the obvious favors he did for Charles Keating in exchange for large contributions %u2013 but you should be reporting on that, too.

Earmarks: His earmarks are as recent as 2006, when he teamed up with fellow Arizona senator Jon Kyl (R) to funnel $10 million toward the University of Arizona for an academic center. In 2003, McCain also slipped $14.3 million into a defense appropriations bill to create a buffer zone around Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. The prior 20 years are littered with prior earmarks and pork.

Lobbyists: Nobody squarely asks him how his new mantra of changing Washington squares with his campaigns always being run by lobbyists. They stem from his days on the Commerce Committee where he was frequently used by telecommunication lobbyists to carry bills for deregulation and other direct favors on their frequent bills before the Committee. Campaign manager Rick Davis, is a former lobbyist who represented major telecommunications companies.

Enough. I''m going back to work. In a couple more years I''ll be wealthy enough not to have to worry as the country falls apart.

I sure would not want to be middle class after 4 more years of McCain/Bush. Hey- you get what you vote for. ROFLMAO

Per Diem Palin.

Naw- most Americans don''t know what "per Diem" means. THe few that do don''t pay attention to politics enough to understand how it refers to more Palin corruption.

Americans can retreat to their big flat panel TV''s and watch American Idol as the country declines into economic ruin and war. But the Republicans will win because they will keep telling people that it''s "all OK". Americans want to believe it so they can watch TV uninterrupted.

The Republic is lost.

----------------

You can make all of the sense in the world. However, in the end many voters have their fingers in their ears saying, "La, la, la. Me like soccer mom."

No wonder America is going down the tubes. Thank McCain/Palin and last 8 years of THEIR PARTY''S RULE.

McCain/Palin= the first "American Idol" ticket.

Americans vote with their "feeling" and not on the merits. What else is new?

Thank You for sharing this & quite interesting how crowds show support for the VP candidate yet segregates the Presidential candidate. She has not been asked significant questions- Nobody knows where she stands on pertinent issues. Even with Senator McCain''s background-
he is overshadowed by a "Washington outsider."
Whose at the top of the ticket?

I''m all for showing support- for rallying behind Your candidate of choice but also one for being informed on what is happening around me. Have my questions answered as to where the candidates stand- but it''s quite difficult to see-hear how Governor Palin views the Nation''s pressing issues when the McCain camp condemns the Media- questions construed as evil attacks.
*Maverick* label- what does that mean? They speak of standing up to Washington yet cower to the Media?
With all due Respect-
The personal questions re: family could be avoided in answers-
Just get to the meat & potatoes of the Nations problems also how they both plan to fix it...
Sexism stomped in an interview- She is a *Barracuda*- *Pit Bull* right? Fingers get pointed at Senator Obama & Senator Biden-
expectations to *perform*, answer questions or be ridiculed for not being an agent of change-
which in my Humble opinion: Are an Agent of Change.

Again Thank You for sharing this & hopefully in the future-
You will have answers to questions that affect the livelihood of the American people. Much Love & Light~~

How do you guys figure that families with disabled members will have a "friend" in the white house when she cut funding for the disabled in Alaska. It''s clear she doesn''t care about people that are disabled. Does Palin know how to think on her own. She keeps repeating Carl Roves lines and it''s getting old fast. She let her daughter have a choice when she got pregnant but doesn''t want any other young lady in this country to be able to make there own choice. She wants to do away with abortion even in the case of rape and or incest. That''s just sick!

Sounds like Obama with his power has turned his own campaign into "whine" after having walked on water. Guess people are not "seeing the light he would like for them to see". As long as the media was only stating favorable things and bashing McCain, and not posing the hard questions to Obama, he was a happy camper. Matthews was canned for total favoritism toward Obama. Now, whine, whine, whine... cry me a river! Go McCain-Palin.

I agree totally.
GO Sarah!!!
Don''t let Washington change you!!
You Change Them, what ever it takes.
Kick their *** out.

Dear concerned citizens of America and mass media of the U.S.A. [Look into McCain-palin sad, unfortunate, and tragic blunders of dividing this on religoius and cultural basis]

McCain-palintalk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, lies and impulsivity? [Danger to country and countries needs and challenges.
Is Mccain-Palin ticket dividing us and instigating a permanet cultural clash within our country. The US, USA, and McCain-palin will should repent now before it is too late.
Their attempts to do this to our Greatgrand Nation will fail and once the Media will start doing due deligent duty and cut thru the cloud so called M. Mccain has created.
As a Independent registered voter I have decided to vote for the Obama-Biden ticket. I am sure they will protect our national security, strengths, stamina and soul as well as rebuild our nation from the bottom up in all areas of need. The OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm international diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated.
