Palin, Now Out on the Road, Continues Bashing Obama

(CBS)
From CBS News' John Bentley

(CEDARBURG, WISC.) – Sarah Palin picked up right where she left off at the Republican vonvention, attacking Barack Obama on everything from his job as a community organizer to not supporting the surge in Iraq.

“He said it was doomed to fail. But just last night, Sen. Obama finally broke and brought himself to admit what all of us have known for quite some time, and that’s that thanks to the skill and valor of our troops, the surge in Iraq has succeeded,” Palin said.

“I guess when you turn out to be profoundly wrong on a vital national security issue, maybe it’s comforting to pretend that everyone else was wrong, too.”

As she introduced John McCain, Palin said the difference between Obama and her running mate was words versus action.

“For a season, a gifted speaker can inspire with his words,” she said. “For a lifetime, John McCain has inspired with his deeds.”

Thanking the woman he called “the most marvelous running mate in the history of this nation”, McCain was tasked with giving the policy part of the platform today.

“Here’s a little straight talk, these are tough times. The jobs report today is a reminder,” he said, referring to the report today that the American economy has lost over half a million jobs this year. “All you’ve ever asked of government is to stand on your side and stay out of your way, and that’s what I intend to do.”

Obama responded by accusing McCain of continuing economic policies of President Bush.

“John McCain may believe that the fundamentals of our economy are ‘strong,’ but the working men and women I meet every day are working harder for less,” Obama said. “John McCain’s answer is more of the same: $200 billion in tax cuts to big corporations and oil companies, and not one dime of tax relief to more than 100 million middle-class families.”

My My The left is mad I see. All they can do is besmurch someone because she stole O''Bama''s thunder. O''Bama is a Chicago politician dont forget that. Chicago politics is not for the innocent I live here and I know. He is a poweful speaker with great potential as a future president of our country but not now at this time for our country. I''m in McCains''s corner right now and look forward to seeing him go to Washington with Palin and watching the chaos that will ensue as they call out both parties. This I think in its self is good enough reason to elect McCain let alone we all know that he has a record of butting heads with both sides. Now the koolaid drinkers will yell and scream about this but be nice they can''t help themselves they know not what they do.

Poor Hillary, poor, poor Hillary. The carpetbagging, coattail riding "could have been" will have to wait until 2012 to loose to Sarah Palin? So sad. At least she''ll have plenty of time for some botox injections.

These blogs do my heart good! Sarah is perceived as quite a threat to liberal "business as usual". My support for her just tripled. Keep "talking down" to Americans you liberals. You are increasing the number of McCain/Palin voters.

People keep saying Gov. Palin is a redneck....well lets look at Obama. Obama is no better than Jesse Jackson. They talk about change..hmmmm...Democrats have had control of Congress & Senate for 18 months and have the lowest record in history for DOING NOTHING. So..."CHANGE" ..wow...they are off to really good start. They think the public is really stupid. Obama has never run "ANYTHING" except his mouth.

The strategy is simple. Palin is trying to take Obama/Biden off message with personal attacks and snarky sarcasm. Obama infact said the surge would bring down violence as did most DEMs, but that it would also "create an underlying problem...we have reduced the violence. But the Iraqis have still not taken responsibility. And we still do not have the kind of political reconciliation -- we are still spending, Bill, $10 billion or $12 billion a month"

Hey John ! you can run, but you can''t hide from George Bush. It''s a good thing that so many people tuned in to McCain''s speech. It was the most boring speech of all time. Palin the hockey mom will soon melt like the ice in the skating rink. John McCain has found someone that he can slap around. They hand her a script and she reads it word for word. They even had to write some words phonetically because she didn''t know how to pronounce them. They have even kept her from talking to the media untl she is able to cram for an interview. This woman is being shoved down our throats and we shouldn''t take it. I wonder how the feminists feel about the fact that there were at least 2 more qualified women for the job and McCain went for the good looking one.

Republicans..the" Family Values" party. Who leads the party?
A lying husband with a long history of infidelities (check Wikipedia) and a mother who failed miserably in raising her teenage daughter.
And THEY want to lead the country.

Evangelicals: Vote the candidates past actions of morality...not their future promises

Republicants on this thread, keep bashing Obama. We all know that McCain''s camp is training and primping Ms. Palin how to debate. During the debate for Gov. of AK., she used color coded index cards.

The lady does not know the meaning of public speaking.

Who is Palin to insult Obama''''s accomplishments and the intelligence of the voter. More than 18 million people voted for him. Millions of individual voters have contributed to his campaign. It would take a hundred years of every vote in Alaska for Palin to rack up that kind of record. Who is this lightweight Palin to cast stones at Obama?? We are just learning like McCain who she really is. She is a creationist, anti-environment, denier of global warming, extremist evangelical who fired a city librarian for resisting censorship. She is a double-talker who fought for huge earmarks for her tiny town. She appointed a man convicted of sexual harassment to be in charge of Public Security. She is a hypocrite who attacked Hillary as a whiner and now wants to ride Clinton''''s coat tails. She has no real education and these attempts to give a strident abuser of political power (Troopergate) credibility through The Big Lie will backfire and sink McCain. His judgment is on the line and he failed the test. If by some horrible turn of luck Palin/McCain win, then even God will not be able to save this country.

Mrs. Palin and Mr. McCain are on the stump, running for office, as Mr. Obama is too. Go back and listen to Mr. Obama''s rhetoric these past 10 months. Obama people, get a grip on yourselves and stop whinning. You all sound like a bunch of cry-baby teens tearing their parents down after a good chewing out, which you got at the Repub convention. It is really pathetic folks.

McCain has had 25+ years in Washington to stand by our sides. It''s getting mighty lonely out here. And don''t think I''m going to vote for your religious zealot running mate just because she''s a woman. Keep her off the national press microphones as longs as possible, Senator. She is an "angry right" time bomb ready to explode in your face.

More of the same Bush bashing from the Nobama camp. Do they have anything constructive to say? This is getting so old and tiresome. And to think they say the Republicans are the "attack dogs".

I find it ironic that McCain is running a "change" platform, but has selected a vice president who sounds just like George Bush. I''m tired of the fear mongering and hate mongering words spewing out of her mouth. Enough already! If McCain truly is trying for a change, the old Republican fear politics needs to go.

Sarah, sweetheart, what goes around, comes around. You''ll have quite a time trying to handle intense press scrutiny of your so-called "qualifications", when empty cheap shots will no longer cut it. And then there will be those vice-presidential debates where your nasty little cheap shots and lies will be torn apart by someone with real experience and credibility.

It''s beyond me how Gov Palin can put her pregnant teenage daughter in the national spotlight as Palin has done. Then to even suggest that she marry her teenage boyfriend..shame on her! Children have no business marrying, Governor. Your decisions and morals are not ones that I want representing me in this great country. How about looking at the real issues of this country!
