Obama Blasts McCain Over Houses, McCain Camp Fires Back

(CBS)

From CBS News’ John Bentley:

(SEDONA, ARIZ.) – It’s not the way John McCain wanted to start his vacation. After saying yesterday he wasn’t sure how many houses he and his wife own, Barack Obama attacked McCain over his understanding of the economy. “Somebody asked John McCain, ‘how many houses do you have?’ and he said, ‘I’m not sure. I’ll have to check with my staff.’ True quote!” Obama said today at rally in Virginia. “By the way, the answer is John McCain has seven homes. So there’s just a fundamental gap of understanding between John McCain’s world and what people are going thru every single day here in America.”

The McCain camp fired back that it’s Obama who is “out of touch” with average Americans. “Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said. “Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?”

The Obama campaign has already released a commercial about the quote, ending with a shot of the White House and the line, “Here is one house America can't afford to have John McCain move into.”

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said. "Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ''cling'' to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who''s in touch with regular Americans?"

I''m glad someone is telling it like it is. Obama is snake oil.

Vote Bob Barr.

McCain voted for every single one of Bush'' budgets. McCain knew these budgets were the largest deficits in our nations history.

McCain voted for the Iraq war. In fact, McCain was a leader in promoting the war. True Republicans are opposed to spilling American blood in this fashion.

These are both violations of the foundation that Republicans built. No loyal Republican would vote for a man who has repeatedly betrayed our ideals.

McCain only aspires to be trapped in the 20th century, he''s still hopelessly lost trying to find the Iraq - Pakistan border.

Mccain is stuck in the 20th century. He is not going to help the average American. The news media and big oil companies, and other corporations are going to see to it. America put your thinking cap on. Your vote is important.

watdfuk...

nice name by the way - really classy....

Let''s address for a second that post you must have slipped your finger on when you sent it 4 times (let''s hope if McCain gets in office - he''s got a little bit better trigger action but I doubt it since he crashed planes 5 times)...

Did Georgia call Mr Mcain for help or did they call a Democratic Senator?

hmmmmmmm - I question your "judgement"...just like the Senate Foreign Relations Committe questioned Mr Mcains.

What''s more concerning than the fact that he has so many homes is that he doesn''t know how many...even an approximate guess in the ballpark would have given me some indication he knows how to take care of business. If he has no idea of his own personal holdings how can he be expected to keep track of America''s?

Firing with what blanks -- the first response was that the candidate did not know how many houses he owned?

Come to think about what does Senator McCain know or believe? Very little from what I tell his positions change without notice and it seems like as most "town hall meetings" that at least one voter knows more about Senator McCain''s voting record that he does.

Like self-proclaimed maverick John McCain that voted 95% with Bush in 2007 and 100% in 2008?

The following definition of maverick seems to apply:
"An unbranded range animal, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it." Senator McCain was "branded" by and with President Bush.

Because this one does not:
"Being independent in thought and action or exhibiting such independence"

Russia has started rebuilding the Soviet Union, and Mr. Sweetheart Chicago land deal is concerned that Johnny Mac has realized the American Dream squared. Is that all the Left''s fave rave Hawaiian-American has? Talk about a socialist view of the world. Obama can''t sink fast enough.

Yes, I think Obama is in touch with regular Americans, and I hope the MCCain campaign will end their constant mockery of the American people.

I''m not concerned with how many houses he has. I know that is why he married who he did. Because of personal ambitions for power and wealth.

I am concerned that in a McCain administration we will never be without wars, (ask him how many he has planned).

And I am also concerned that he is in agreement that we cannot go after Bin Laden or continue to fight all the wars he has planned without reinstating the draft.

Poor McCain. I hope we don''t find him wandering around his neighborhood in his morning robe, disoriented, and unable to find his way to one of his homes.
