Obama Meets With T. Boone Pickens

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(RENO, NEV.) Barack Obama met with oil tycoon, T. Boone Pickens, at a casino-resort this morning, where the two were expected to discuss energy policy. However, the photo op of the men, smiling and shaking hands, became a bit tense after a reporter asked Obama how it felt to be meeting with someone who “tore down” John Kerry in 2004.

“You know, he has a lot longer track record than that,” Obama said as he defended Pickens adding, “he’s a legendary entrepreneur and, you know, one of the things that I think we have to unify the country around is having an intelligent energy policy.”

There wasn’t a peep out of Pickens, though, who stood next to Obama and smiled awkwardly.

Pickens reportedly donated about $3 million to the “Swift Boat Vets for Truth” group, which funded the “swift boat” ads lambasting Kerry in 2004.

Pickens, who initially supported Rudy Giuliani’s candidacy, has has become a self-described “surprising environmentalist” and has not endorsed Obama or McCain.

The Obama campaign said Pickens initiated today’s meeting in Reno; Pickens met with John McCain last week.

Shame on the man above who brought into the conversation John McCain and his first wife. Shame on you. What happened thirty years ago has no place in 2008. The man has admitted that his greatest moral failure is his first divorce. God forgives, so will I.

Entreprenuer? Intelligent energy policy? Where do the profits come from? To the entreprenuer, free markets, OK! Government subsidy? OK too! T.Boone, you are awfully slick. All charges were automatically "refuted" when Dan Rather and all of CBS was shown to be the lying frauds they are/were.

Yo WhiteWatermelonDude, there were no "charges" against G.W. Bush, just Dan Rather attempting to peddle a big lie and some fraudulent documents. Wake up, once it was exposed, there was no refuting required.

And,I didn''''t say squat about HoChiMinhKerry, other than he was obviously unable to show them to be the liars Dan Rather was proven to be.

T-Bone has no credibility for his funding od Swift Boats.

This clown missed the vote. We can move forward with similar ideas, but different people.

Not surprising he just smiled awkwardly. What did they expect him to say? "I used to be a lying slimeball, but I''m much better now...?"

All the charges were refuted by Bush''s surrogates but not by Bush himself...the same way you said that Kerry himself didn''t refute the charges only his surrogates did.
