Bill Clinton Will Campaign for Obama “Whenever He Asks”

From CBS News' Jamie Farnsworth:

(New York) In his first press conference since releasing a written statement through his spokesperson in support of Barack Obama's candidacy, former President Bill Clinton said he would campaign with his wife’s former opponent "whenever he asks."

“We had a good talk and he said he wanted me to campaign with him and I said I was eager to do so,” Clinton said at a press conference to announce his foundation's breakthrough on Malaria drug prices.

Clinton pointed out that Sen. Obama is currently gearing up for his overseas trip.

“He is busier than I am on politics anyway,” Clinton said. “I just told him whenever he wanted to do it, I was ready, so it is basically on their timetable.”

The former president was also asked for his reaction to the Jesse Jackson gaffe, in which the reverend used the N-word during a break in a Fox News TV interview.

“He was big enough to quickly apologize and if all of us lived on live mics then 100 percent of us in this room would be embarrassed from time to time,” Clinton said. “He's a good man and he did what he could to make it right.”

Clinton added, “I think Senator Obama accepted his apology. I think it’s over."

Asked if he would speak at the Democratic Convention in Denver, Clinton said, "I have actually given no thought to it one way or another."

Surely you jest. Bill will not do all he can do for the simple reason he wants to be able to tell the Democratic Party and regain his golden boy image, by saying I told you so.

For the good of the Democratic Party, and the good of the country, Bill Clinton knows that it would be much better to have President Barak Obama, rather than hispanic Amnesty President Mccain that would give amnesty to over 12 million illegals. Wake up people. A vote for Mccain is a vote to have Spanish become the number one language in this country. If you vote for Mccain, you are voting to get replaced by a mexican at your job!

Don''t doubt that Bill wants to secretly destroy Obama''s chances at getting elected....he is very upset at how it unfolded in the primary...very bitter....don''t underestimated the Clintons

Bill gets flashed a lot while on the road.

Ariel, you must be as rich as Paris Hilton. Obama''s plan will lower my taxes 3 TIMES as much as McCain''s.
Obama in ''08! America can''t survive another republican president.

At least Bill Clinton gave a d*nm about the average American. All Ariel133 has is typical Republican Propaganda. It won''t work this year. Obama has been very specific about his tax plan. If you make over 250,000 a year, then you will see more taxes. If you are below $250k then your taxes will go down. Period.

But "raise your taxes" has always worked to scare you before. There is no imagination or arguments left for the Repugs, so they trot out the same old lines.

The sad thing is that the average American has been shafted by the Repugs while they reduce taxes on the wealthy are pour money into their pockets.

Wake UP America! These people are NOT ON YOUR SIDE. They talk their propaganda and you''ve been buying it since 1980. These NeorepubliCONS are all about BIG MONEY- the wealthy and their corporations. Profiteers in war and commerce-- and they laughing at you all the way to the bank.

So why did CBS remove my post (right below) the first time I posted it? Could it be because it is TRUE?

Jessie Jackson is an example of dem''s putting Barack up on the cross. But is he going to make his way off of it again? Barack can be mocked, the comedy site 23/6 does it consistently and well. ''I just told him whenever he wanted to do it, I was ready, so it is basically on their timetable.''

Um, how is Bill Clinton saying he would do whatever Obama wants whenever he wants it an example of putting Obama on a leash?

It is a simple inability to perceive the world as it is. It is a common problem to shills like ol'' witless here.

They remind me of an old human-subject experiment (true story). Subjects were given glasses to wear all day and night. The glasses inverted the world- made it upside down. After 3 days every subject suddenly started seeing the world as if it were right-side up again! The inage reaching their eyes was still upside down, but they could not see it.

The people like ol'' witless here are wearing upside down glasses and think the world they see a world that is actually right-side up.

They should send Bill Clinton out to daily expose McCain''s mistakes and "senior moments".

McCain:
1. unambiguously called Social Security "an absolute disgrace." This is not a quote taken out of context.

2. top economic policy adviser calls Americans a bunch of "whiners" for being worried about the slumping economy.

3. gets caught in a bizarre denial and flip flop when Iraqi leaders call for a timetable for U.S. withdrawal

4. economic plan to cut the deficit has no details and is simply not believable.

5. deficit plan includes bringing the troops home represents a major Iraq flip-flop. His military rhetoric says "Stay until victory." Can''t have it both ways.

6. campaign misled about economists support. After economists approved his earlier plan, McCain changes it without their approval.

7. makes a joke about killing the Iranian people by selling them cigarettes.

8. denies, flatly, that he ever said that he is not an expert in economics. Are you kidding?

9). distorts his record on veterans benefits in response to a question from Vietnam Veteran, who then proceeds to call McCain out on it.

10.) demonstrates he knows nothing about Afghanistan and Pakistan. Claims "good news" as relationship and war deteriorates.

Apparently, she''s a big fan of the show. She talks about it a lot. She must have liked the skits that bashed Hillary.

Rowdy--

Howdy Rowdy-- I''m going off-topic here but I owe you a big thank you.
Your posts about Jesse Jackson use of the n-word gave me a whole new perspective on the issue. I was of the "should NEVER be used" school until I read your comparison of it to our male acquaintances calling us "sweetie", "honey", or "babe". It''s fine for our friends to do it but not for others.
You''re completely right and I thank you for the illuminating perspective.
