Hagel Says He'd Consider An Obama VP Offer

Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel said in an interview with the Associated Press that he would consider accepting an offer to be Barack Obama's running mate, if asked.

Hagel, who has been a vocal critic of the Bush administration's handling of the war in Iraq, added that he doesn't expect to be on a presidential ticket. Still, the Nebraska senator's non-denial of interest is sure to add fuel to the fire of those calling for Obama to pick a Republican to balance the ticket.

"If it would occur, I would have to think about it," Hagel said. "I think anybody, anybody would have to consider it. Doesn't mean you'd do it, doesn't mean you'd accept it, could be too many gaps there, but you'd have to consider it, it's the only thing you could do. Why wouldn't you?"

In his book, "America: Our Next Chapter," Hagel said that the decision to go to war in Iraq was "the triumph of the so-called neoconservative ideology, as well as Bush administration arrogance and incompetence."

Hagel, a Vietnam veteran who hasn't endorsed either Obama or McCain, told the AP he hasn't thought about who he'll vote for in November.

There are somethings I disagree with him on, but I''d support a choice of Chuck Hagel for the ticket.

Obama/Hagel 08. They''d be completely unstoppable.

-Agreed! Obama/Bloomberg would make sens too. They together would settle the MiddleEast problems for at least the next 50 yrs. Bloomberg is vocal for a settlement of the Middle-East. But on the other hand, I''m afraid if that had to happen, America would be impovrished for all Jewish funds would head to the Middle East where there would be a buck to make...

I like Hagel. I''d vote for an Obama +Hagel ticket. In other news, folks are calling for Obama people to pay off HRC''s huge debts saying that if Obama''s supporters do that--he can tap her donors in the fall. Yeah right--many of her voters are turn coats=--it would be par for the course for Hillary and company to take the Obama supporter money now, and run--stiffing both Obama and the DNC in the fall.

Many HRC supporters cannot be counted on--not for money in the fall election and not for votes--if we really want a symbiosis to the 2 sides---how about they go first? donate their hearts out to Obama, then that money can be sent over to HRC to pay her debts--if Obama supporters go first--they may end up tapped out and suckered by the Clinton user machine.

WRITE IN your vote for

HILLARY CLINTON for

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

in the November elections!

pass it on......

**YES WE WILL**

If every single HRC supporter wrote in a vote for her--that would be about 18 million votes!!! Unfortunately, the electorate is about 110 million voters. This means about 92 million votes would be cast for someone else--even if you all wanted her--and here''s a clue--you number in the minority from all parties and positions--but even if every HRC supporter wrote her name in: NO SHE WON''T. Because you never were a majority--not in the Dem party, definitely not in Independents and of course not in the General or with Republicans.

Learn math--it will save you many a future embarassment. LOL

Staunch Clinton supporters !!!
First go to HRC site and pay off her debt.
60% of you have already said that they would vote for Obama.
Rest of bitters you will only help Obama if you do write-ins.
Good lucks !!!
Hagel will preside a democratic senate? Hagel will be republican president should something happen to Obama? Hagel will vote democratic in senate, can he begin now?
That is the rest of the story.

Barack Obama told a Congressional
Black Caucus Meeting on Thur.
that Clinton supporters would

"get over it".

==========================
LOL!!

This puts me in mind of when "Claytie" Williams while running for Gov. of Texas made some stupid analogy using women being raped as part of it.

He claimed, "they should just lay back and enjoy it."

Reckon this is what OsamaObama has just told all you Hillary supporters to do.

Just lay back and enjoy what he''s about to give you all.

LOL!!!!!

Unbelievable!!

These left wing pinko, un-American Democrats have been blaming G.W. Bush for this home morgage financing rip off of America.

Now we see where Democrats like Chris Dodd who actually ran as a Presidential candidate this year has been caught butt pocket deep in this mess along with some other Democrats. I haven''''t heard of any Republicans being involved yet

Where are the Congressional hearings about this rip off of America?? When is Chris Dodd heading to prison??

Countrywide was pumping money into Dodd''''s and these other Democrats pockets, and now the head of the Senate Banking Committee is using his position to use tax payer money to pump back into these morgage companies such as Countrywide''''s pockets.

All under the guise of "helping home owners."

Remember the Chrysler bail out...Yeap, Jimah Carter and no telling how many Democrats in Congress. Reckon how much up front cash this cost Chrysler?

Are you OsamaObama worshippers truly this asleep at the wheel?? The lights are on, but nobody is home??

Barack Obama is proving to be an outstanding strategic planner. Clearly a fresh approach. His fresh vision for America, combined with an outstanding supportive staff - this man can accomplish much for the betterment of America.

Case in point -- Chuck Hagel is a Republican, and is SERIOUSLY considering accepting the VP nomination from Barack! Imagine the media coverage should this happen! McCain can''t even keep his own party in line, let alone the election.

Personally, I don''t think Chuck Hagel is the best choice to serve as VP to Obama. There are other candidates that would serve the Democratic ticket better. However, Hagel wouldn''t be all that unfavorable either. If Barack should choose Hagel, Obama''s history of careful consideration would indicate there is an advantage to having Hagel as his second.

Regardless of who Barack chooses as a VP, this is turning out to be an amazing election cycle. We actually have someone who we can vote FOR, instead of voting to vote against the other. There actually is a choice for someone who can make a change!

You go, Barack! We are behind you all the way!

A change we can believe in.

Barack in ''08!

Reckon why nobody to this days has ask OsamaObama about his fellow Democrat Senator DiFi and her use of a Senate Committee chairwomans position to divert $1.5 billion worth of defense department funding into a company her husband owns??

A company by the way who does not manufacture defense department products or services.

Reckon what Mr. DiFi''s profit margin was....If it was as low as Exxon''s margins this still gave Mr. DiFi a cool $100 million into his pocket.

While OsamaObama and Hillary are out campaigning, together which of you hyphenated-Americans will show enough swinging equipment to ask either of them, when will their fellow Democrat Senator and former presidential primary contender Chris Dodd be brought before the Senate under oath to explain why the Chairman of the Senate Banking committee was accepting "Sweetheart" loans from the very companies he is now proposing a tax payer funded bail out bills for???????

Then follow up with, "When can we expect to see Chris Dodd begin serving time in a federally funded corrections institute??"

Unbelievable!!

We''ve all witnessed you left wing pinkos ********** with your "toe taping" comments for days now about a Republican Senator who did nothing and is now gone at the GOP''s request.

Yet, now we all see a Democrat Senator who is the head of the banking committee accepting both "Sweetheart" loans and campaign contributions from the very companies he is bailing out with a tax payer funded bail out bill??

I swear, the silence from all you progressive ********** is deafening!!!

There''s only one smart choice for V.P.--that''s Hillary.
The longer he takes putting her on the ticket--the longer he will be the object of scorn and frustration of many of us Hillary fans, even is she herself is out campaigning for him.

Will Obama reach across the aisle?

Who give a ***? As the FISA bills proves, both parties are equally corrupted and despicable.

So go ahead and reach across the aisle Barack. Reach right for one of your Republican FISA buddies.

Check your state''s write in rules before you write in Hillary Clinton...

Write in candidates have to be registered in your state for the vote to count.

Don''t know how accurate this is, but check it out before you vote...You don''t want HIllary''s vote going to Obama....

A vote for Obama is a vote for higher taxes in an economy that can''t afford it. Wake up. His plans are all wrong- and people are just so stupid & blind- SO many walk around thinking they will get a change in government- with a Democrat- you will get NOTHING, and I feel sorry for those who are just plain naive.
15% today- is normal, three months from now- Obama will fall through the rabbit hole.

Obama will inform almost everyone that he wants them to be his VP

He''ll keep them hanging on like puppets on a string, then kick them and put them under the bus.

This guy is such a phoney.
