McCain Reminds Pennsylvanians of Obama's "Bitter" Comments

(CBS)
From CBS News’ John Bentley:
PHILADELPHIA – John McCain courted voters in this important swing state by reminding them of Barack Obama’s comments that small town Pennsylvanians “cling to guns or religion” because they are “bitter.”
“I’m going to tell them I don’t agree with Sen. Obama that they cling to their religion and the Constitution because they’re bitter,” McCain said as he explained how he planned to win Pennsylvania in the fall. “The people who love their country, who cherish their religion, and support the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, that’s the message, and that’s another reason why we’re going to win the state of Pennsylvania.”
McCain also repeated his assertion that an Obama presidency would be a second term for Jimmy Carter. “One of the attacks on me has been that it’d be President Bush’s third term,” McCain said, in response to a question from the audience asking him to explain his comment comparing Obama to Carter. “In terms of national security, to taxation, to the increase of the role of government, it seems to me Sen. Obama is dusting off the old policies of the 60s and 70s that failed.”
Although he was in Philadelphia, McCain opened his town hall here talking about tomorrow’s town hall in New York. “I have not hard from Sen. Obama, but I urge him to meet with me in town hall meetings all over America,” he said. “I asked him to join me tomorrow night in Federal Hall in New York City, and let’s hear from the American people.”
McCain has proposed a series of 10 town hall meetings across the country, starting Thursday at Federal Hall in Manhattan. Obama’s campaign said they were interested in joint appearances, but have yet to RSVP for the New York town hall.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats accused John McCain on Wednesday of being confused and unsympathetic for saying it`s "not too important" when U.S. troops leave Iraq, attacking the Republican presidential candidate on an issue he has made key in the November election.
McCain`s campaign said his comment had been distorted.
But Democrats seized on McCain`s response to a question in a television interview when asked if he had a good estimate of when he thought American troops might come home from Iraq.
"No, but that`s not too important," McCain said on NBC`s "Today Show". "What`s important is the casualties in Iraq."
"It is unbelievably out of touch and inconsistent with the needs and concerns of Americans and particularly the families of the troops who are over there," said Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.
"To them it`s the most important thing in the world when they come home. And it`s the most important thing in the world that we have a commander-in-chief who understands how you can bring them home," said Kerry, a Vietnam veteran and close Obama supporter who lost the 2004 election to President George W. Bush.
I sincerely doubt he''s ever known any rural people at all and obviously has no clue what rural people do for this country, or need from this country!
Sic''em! NO OBAMA ''08
*** I''m bitter as heck Senior Mccain! After 8 years of bush we are all bitter. Mccain is definately out of touch if he doesn''t think us voters have been bitter because of bush policy of rewarding rich people for no reason at all. Mccain should remind the people of Pennsylvania that he voted to allow more than over 12 million illegal immigrants to be granted amnesty and come up to Pa and other northern states and take the jobs from blue collar white and black americans! Wake up everyone! Obama may not be perfect, but atleast he offers something other than Bush''s failed policies! Anyone other than Amnesty Juan Mccain!

*** What does Obama have to apologize to Americans for? When is Mccain going to apologize to blue collar American workers that would have lost their jobs to the over 12 million illegals he wanted to give amnesty to! When is Bush going to apologize for stealing 2 elections? When is he going to apologize to the rest of the world for his cowboy(lack of) diplomacy?

On top of that, Obama can remind Pennsylvania and McPain about Bush''s endless war in Iraq, sabre rattling on Iran and lousy economy, Bush''s rubber stamp Republican congress, Bush''s buddy Jack Abramoff, Scott McClellan''s info on McPain''s buddy Bush, just to name a few.
