Hillary Clinton’s Livin’ La Vida Loca, Picks Up Ricky Martin Endorsement

(CBS)

From CBS News’ Fernando Suarez:

MADISON, S.D. -- Puerto Rican pop star Ricky Martin endorsed Hillary Clinton this afternoon, just days before the U.S. territory prepares to vote. Martin, who became famous in the mid-90s for his song “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” said in a written statement released by the campaign that Clinton “has always been consistent in her commitment with the needs of the Latino community.”

Martin isn’t the first celeb to endorse Clinton. He joins a long list of Hollywood stars, singers, and actors, including Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Eva Longoria, Jack Nicholson, America Ferrera, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Michael Douglas, Robert Kennedy Jr., Quincy Jones and Magic Johnson.

"I am honored to have Ricky Martin's support,” Clinton said in a written statement. “He is a very important voice in the Latino community and together we will work to improve the lives of families and children across the country."

Although it is unclear if Martin’s endorsement will give Clinton a big boost in Puerto Rico, she is expected to win by double-digits on the island.

To some of us Ricky Martin''s endorsement would be a reason to vote AGAINST Hillary.

When I posted this yesterday, you accused me of being deceitful and you declared that the assertions below are not true. If you would take the time to check Ms. Clinton''''s latest math regarding her "lead in the popular vote," you will see I am accurate. She said, in essence, the caucuses don''''t count.

COUNT ALL THE VOTES, INCLUDING CAUCUSES!

I thought Hillary''''s mantra is: "Count Every Vote." If that is the case, why doesn''''t she want to count the votes of Alaska, American Samoa, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nebraska, Washington, Hawaii and Wyoming? They all voted by caucus and, they voted for Obama. Could that be the reason she DOES NOT want every vote to count?

please consider writing in Hillary on the ballot for the general election.
-------------------
That would be a GREAT way to split the vote and hand an easy victory to McCain. EVEN BETTER than actually voting for him, because more frustrated Hillary supporters would take their support away from Obama than would give it to McCain
(that whole party loyalty thing, you know - well, except for all the Republican women who would vote for Hillary based on SEXISM).

But, yah, WRITE IN HILLARY.

I like it.

How anyone in this country can say that all the people who would like to have been able to vote for Obama in FL and MI have no right to be heard in America is beyond me.
------------
Here, let me help. FL AND MI BROKE THE PARTY RULES. THE PARTY HAS TO PUNISH THEM FOR BREAKING THE RULES.

OK, I understand you''re a Democrat and you don''t understand what rules are. Just try to remember it this way - breaking the rules is a BAD thing.

Just one small step in helping a staunch Democrat learn to be a member of CIVILIZED society instead...

How anyone in this country can say that all the people who would like to have been able to vote for Obama in FL and MI have no right to be heard in America is beyond me. Shame on the super delegate party leaders who caused this. FL party leaders say they weren''t in on it and it''s all the republicans fault, but I saw a laughing, happy democrat who was voting for it and he didn''t look forced to me. It looked like the FL democratic party wanted it and it was convenient to let the republicans take the rap for it. In MI our guy wasn''t on the ballot. If the re-vote that the Clinton people drew up had stuck with MI law for open elections, we probably could have had a re-vote, but they got cute and tried to eliminate whole blocks of Obama supporters from voting and the legislature turned it down as they should have. I hope that by the next election we have mail in elections with all the safe guards that Oregon has for it. Without the computer verified signatures, there is too much room for fraud, but with proper safeguards, it would sure be a lot easier and cheaper to mail them in. And no screw ups!

Wow, Ricky Martin. There is a masters degree in music just waiting to vote I''m actually going to be glad when the election is over. That way we can get the news focus off of Hillary and start concentrating on classier women like Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears.

The DNC from FL and MI should be fined or sanctioned by some means. However the voters that went to the polls should have their votes counted as cast. How anyone in this country can say that over 2 million votes don%u2019t count is not a true American. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both agreed that they would not campaign in FL or MI, neither did. It was Barack Obama that had his name taken off the ballot that was his call not Clintons. The votes should be counted and the delegates awarded. Barack Obama is saying Pi$$ on Americans that reside in Florida and Michigan. Don%u2019t count their votes as they cast them. He!! That might give Mrs. Clinton more delegates and votes. And could cause more Superdelegates to vote for Hillary Clinton. I think Mr. Obama is not the person we would like running our country for us when he can write that many Americans off as not counting. This man is a sleeper cell for disaster for our country

The only thing that Obama has going for him is that he has good speech writers working for him. If he is the Democrats nominee for president he will suffer the worst presidential defeat in the history of this country.
You can bank on that.

Then he''ll have to top Geraldine Ferraro and Dukakis, who got a total of 13 electoral votes for their effort.

Still, better to follow the rules and keep pledges and honor the process than to try to cheat, lie and move the goal posts to get a win--such a person would be a horrible President. We had one in Bush, the Dem don''t need to try to give us one in Hillary.

It really is not just the winning you know--it is how you play the game--and Americans tend NOT to like cheaters. You and Hillary should remember that.

This endorsement could turn the tide on Obama and his Obamaniacs.
Enough with Obama now that international superstar Ricky Martin chose Hillary. Give it up Obama. If she loses to this creep I''m voting for John McCain.

Hillary lost. Obama ran by the rules and has won. He can give all the Michigan (and not even take the uncommitted MI delegates) and she can also take 55% of the Florida delegates and she has still lost by about 70 delegates.

If you want to count actual votes, then you will also have to count the caucus states that he won easily. That put him ahead in the popular vote by about a million votes.
