McCain, MoveOn Unveil New Ads
John McCain is focusing on the environment today, and he has a new ad out in Oregon staking out a middle ground between global warming deniers and those who advocate steps such as significant tax increases to address the issue.
In the spot, McCain tells voters he believes climate change is real – but suggests that doesn't mean "high taxes and crippling regulation" are the answer to the problem.
"Our environment in peril, oil and food prices out of control, climate change wreaks havoc with deadly weather," an announcer says as the spot opens. "One extreme thinks high taxes and crippling regulation is the solution. Another denies the problem even exists. There's a better way."
McCain then begins to speak. "I believe that climate change is real," he says. "It's not just a greenhouse gas issue. It's a national security issue. We have an obligation to future generations to take action and fix it."
Watch it:
In other advertising news, MoveOn.org, the liberal advocacy group, has announced the winner of its “Obama in 30 Seconds” contest, in which a panel that included a number of celebrities chose one of the more than 1,100 spots submitted to the group. The winning ad, “Obamacan," features lifelong Republican and former US Air Force Staff Sergeant John Weiler discussing why he is supporting Barack Obama. MoveOn says it will spend $200,000 to run the spot on national cable and in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Oh Yeah...John McCain is a ''''True Patriot'''' US Veterans can Depend On...Huh
WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has suggested he would OPPOSE a Bi-Partisan measure by Virginia Sen. Jim Webb to expand college Tuition Benefits for (Military Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan).
McCains new move comes as a blow to Webb, a freshman Democrat and former Navy Secretary who had been Quietly building Bi-Partisan support for months.
Note: Webbs GI Bill, a centerpiece of his 2006 campaign, would pay the college tuition of many Military Veterans who have served since the (Sept. 11, 2001, Terrorist Attacks). The amount of tuition paid would not exceed the cost of the most expensive state school in a Veterans Home State, in most cases.
The Current Montgomery GI Bill pays only a SMALL FRACTION of the COST of COLLEGE TODAY.
Two things have become evident to me even though they don''''t
make any sense at all.
The first one is that the Democratic Party Leadership
knows damm well that if Obama where to actually make
it past the Republicans and get in the White House, the results will be disastrous.
The second one is that the Democratic leadership
is throwing this election.
I know it''s hard to believe. I know it doesnt make any sense. But it''s happening everyday right in front of us, and I can''t go on telling myself that it isn''t.
They lost all creibility this year attacking Clinton and her husband.
Every email they sent out was biased and self serving to the owners of the website. Membership was abused this year and the donations were squandered. If your still a member I suggest unsubscribing to send a message for them to get democratic.
They could start here:
Perpetual War
Unfair taxation of the middle class
High prices for energy and everything else
High medical costs and prescription drugs
Pollution
Corruption
Religious hypocrisy and abuse of church status tax laws
Degradation of our infrastructure
Continued export of American jobs to overseas slave labor
Decline in US stature and respect of the world community
A vote for McCain is for more of the same.
