Obama Makes Move to Wrap Up Washington Superdelegates

Jill Jackson is a Capitol Hill field producer for CBS News.
Sen. Barack Obama stepped into a swarm of superdelegates this morning when he visited the House of Representatives in the middle of a vote. Obama stayed on the floor for almost half an hour visiting with both Democrats and Republicans who looked completely star struck.

Even Speaker Nancy Pelosi left her weekly press briefing and made a beeline for the House floor to say hello. And the Capitol Hill press corps surrounded the House Chamber to catch him on his way out and fire questions about such an unusual move for a presidential candidate, even if he is a senator.

"I wasn't campaigning, I was just saying hello to everybody," Obama said.

He also said he wanted to make clear that he was available to answer any questions the undecideds might have and reassure members of the Democratic Party as well.

"Obviously people have been anxious about some of the sense of division in the party," Obama said. "I just wanted to ensure them that whatever happens, we will be coming together."

Obama also admitted that Clinton has the upper hand in West Virginia and Kentucky and will "likely win" those states. When asked if Obama would consider Sen. Hillary Clinton as his running mate, Obama said it's still too early to make that call because he "doesn't know who the nominee is going to be."

After passing through the Capitol Rotunda to the Senate side and exhanging words with some tourists from Illinois, Obama and his secret service were finally able to ditch the scrum. He hopped in an elevator to continue his day of wooing superdelegates in Washington before he gets back to the campaign trail.

Oh COME ON! All the canidates except for Clinton took their names off... they did that BECAUSE the state violated the RULES! These Sour Grapes are getting to the point of rediculous. NO ONE likes to loose but you folks are just getting way overboard with it. Sieg Heil Bush

No they didn''t! There were still other names on the ballot!

The people of Michigan knew who was and was not going to be on the ballot and they came out and supported Hillary Clinton anyway!

Obama the fool didn''t even know he didn''t have to take his name off the ballot.

He WITHDREW himself from the Michigan race! Now how dumb is that?

He played a game and he lost. If wasn''''t playing games he would have been on the ballot in the first place.

He knows that he lost the gamble because Michigan will need to be included to get a clear winner. He messed up big time.

Anyone who claims that they can''''t figure out what I mean is a liar, because it is not that difficult.

Strange attitude toward people who are our relation and have been friends for such a long time. It seems you fascist not only hate your fellow citizens but everyone else in the world who doesn''t agree with the party. I wonder if that includes a certain group in Germany... the ones who are outlawed from holding power... the NAZI''S??? Sieg Heil Bush

We in Europe mostly support Obama, because we in Europe are worried about the world economy. Seeing as McCain wants to simply continue what bush has started, and noticing that only Obama seems to have Economical knowledge amongst the 3 candidates, he is the most obvious choice.

My father lost an arm in the Korean conflict, my mother is living day to day because the company he worked for collapsed and went overseas and his pension was gone. An illness wiped out their life savings because they lost their medical coverage. My husband, an African American, died in Vietnam and all I have left are the dear memories and two silver stars he was awarded for his bravery. Please let me believe his supreme sacrifice was not in vain. If we had a man like Senator Obama as our President in those times, I would still have my Dad and my beloved husband. Shame on all of you for trying to belittle a man who cares for us all! You don''t deserve to wallow in your freedoms that my family sacrificed so much to try and achieve!

How come this is not getting any air time in the news doing the campaign this could be important if she is found guilty if she would be President.
Trail date is in May 2008

Peter F. Paul has launched a new website to expose and inform the public of the upcoming landmark civil trial of Paul vs. Clinton. The case is pending in a California court against former President Bill Clinton, with Senator Hillary Clinton as a material witness.
A status conference hearing is scheduled for April 25, 2008, and a trial date is expected to be announced soon.
Discovery in the case is expected to begin in May, 2008 as it proceeds to trial.
The discovery will expose an ongoing cover-up of the campaign finance crimes and the obstructions of justice directed by Hillary Clinton with the help of Bill Clinton and former DNC Chair Ed Rendell. The cover-up rivals Watergate in its corruption of each branch of government and the media.
Since the media still refuses to cover Senator Clinton''s involvement in the largest campaign finance fraud case in U.S. history, Paul will report on much of the news himself in this historic landmark case.
For news and information on this case, you can visit PaulvClinton.com

Do we really want this drama in the white house. Trial is for May 2008.

In that report Hillary and her campaign again hid Paul%u2019s $1.2 million contribution to her campaign and falsely attributed $250,000 as being donated by Paul%u2019s partner, Spider Man creator Stan Lee, who swore in a video taped deposition he never gave Hillary or her campaign any money.

Lee did testify to trading $100,000 checks with Paul to make it appear he gave $100,000 to Hillary%u2019s campaign (admission of a felony) but none of that has been reported by the %u201Coverly critical%u201D media!

Where is the outrage from Obama that the press is engaging in a double standard

george2221, I''ve read your post and have one suggestion. Verify the facts through an independent source (like others of us have) and not through a campaign director who is interested in making his candidate look good. You may find that Clinton''s Director is not right.

We just want to make ghetto babies and not nurture them or love them this way the ghetto babies grow up deprived of love and kill themselves thru a gang or wind up on death row in which I do not care. Our lust will overcome America. Do ya hear me?

Why do you fear Negroes?

Lets put the whole world on welfare? By having Obama sign the Global Poverty Act!
We will be paying for Africas lust and support a terrorist child today where they can grow up and love us to death!

Come down to PA and visit us black folk? We lose a brother every night you can be a part of the action the only thing is you might be one of the brothers!
