Obama Makes Move to Wrap Up Washington Superdelegates

Jill Jackson is a Capitol Hill field producer for CBS News.
Sen. Barack Obama stepped into a swarm of superdelegates this morning when he visited the House of Representatives in the middle of a vote. Obama stayed on the floor for almost half an hour visiting with both Democrats and Republicans who looked completely star struck.

Even Speaker Nancy Pelosi left her weekly press briefing and made a beeline for the House floor to say hello. And the Capitol Hill press corps surrounded the House Chamber to catch him on his way out and fire questions about such an unusual move for a presidential candidate, even if he is a senator.

"I wasn't campaigning, I was just saying hello to everybody," Obama said.

He also said he wanted to make clear that he was available to answer any questions the undecideds might have and reassure members of the Democratic Party as well.

"Obviously people have been anxious about some of the sense of division in the party," Obama said. "I just wanted to ensure them that whatever happens, we will be coming together."

Obama also admitted that Clinton has the upper hand in West Virginia and Kentucky and will "likely win" those states. When asked if Obama would consider Sen. Hillary Clinton as his running mate, Obama said it's still too early to make that call because he "doesn't know who the nominee is going to be."

After passing through the Capitol Rotunda to the Senate side and exhanging words with some tourists from Illinois, Obama and his secret service were finally able to ditch the scrum. He hopped in an elevator to continue his day of wooing superdelegates in Washington before he gets back to the campaign trail.

Sen. Barack Obama today said the most important thing he could achieve as president would be to deal with Iraq and the threat of al Qaeda in Afghanistan while improving "our influence around the world."

And the next president of the United States has spoken !

Pretentious. Hillary democrats watch his arrogance with disdain. He seems to say he will lose West Virginia and Kentucky. Why? Probably not enough blacks there. So come November, where does he think Hillary democrats will be. John McCain, you are in the catbird seat watching this guy destroy the party we so loved.

DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS - TAKE -----------ROE v. WADE------------

Two of the current justices of the United States Supreme Court will probable retire within the next four years. One is 75 and the other is 84. This will give the new president the ability to nominate two new justices. If McCain is elected you can be sure the new justices will be just like Roberts, Scalia and Thomas: willing to overturn ROE v. WADE. So think when you vote!!!

McCain will be 72 if he wins this election and 76 at the end of his first term and 80 at the end of his second term if he lives that long.

Its going to suck going to the White House for Dinner if McCain is President. Cream Corn and Steamed Carrots with SALISBURY STEAK and buttered noodles with some pie for a treat after dinner. For festive Dinners its going to be Crab Legs and everybody at the table is required to wear a BIB so they dont get butter on their shirts and then McCain will go sit in front of the TV and watch Re-Runs of MASH and take a nap.

I dont think america has ever had a president who has had so many times defend his patriotism. Obama has so many left liberal friends. His believe in Black Liberation Theory is Frightining for Most Americans. Michelle Obama is even more of a Black Separtists. If Obama wins, which he might likely do. America will be forever changed. With his Liberal Tax Policys and disarming of Americas Missle Defense. I beginning to think Obama could be a Mucharian Candidate for Hamas. No one ever thought the World Trade Centers would disappear. It can happen.

It would be diffrent story for Hillary voters to come to Obama side, however they will not stand by someone who has terror related ties, went to a church that supports hamas and gave Louis Farakahn a lifetime achievement award, Michelle Obama is no better, she is actually worse than Obama.

And PLEASE, no post-dated checks. Hillary is in a HURRY to get her money back %u2013 the interest she%u2019s losing on that money is more than TEN TIMES the median income of her supporters.

The question is if we want a man in the White House who will regularly give his ear to the likes of a Reverend Wright, his and Sabeel%u2019s replacement theologies, and pro-terrorist propagandists like Ali Abunimah on a regular basis? In one sense, Obama could be considered the ISM%u2019s Manchurian candidate given his wide connections to ISM activists and campaign movements such as the Wheels of Justice Tour, Joseph Carr a.k.a. Joseph Smith, Hannah Mermelstein, Anna Baltzer and others.

So if some people I know are criminals then by proxy I am a criminal, too? If my pastor said some unpatriotic remarks does that mean by proxy I am un-patriotic as well? The "guilty by association" is really just another negative dirty trick from the same old system that drive so many away from voting in elections because they are all "dirty politicians". Well, at least Obama has not played the dirty trick by linking HRC to Mark Penn or some shadier characters in his campaign strategy. She did that herself. He did not expose her lies, CBS did.

ccfscda,

The polls say you''re full of it.

The elction won''t be decided by Limbaugh "Democrats" it will be decided by moderate independents.

Anyone who calls themselves a Democrat but supports McCain and his policies is not a real Democrat and is merely part of Operation Chaos.

Now, it has become the ISM%u2019s time to deconstruct religious dogma of Israel belonging to the Jews as is preached in US churches and to increase the number of black churches in America that are working in %u201Csolidarity%u201D with this program. Jeremiah Wright%u2019s church is one of them. Even though the national synod of the United Church for Christ rescinded a boycott and divestment plan against Israel, a wing of the UCC church keeps trying to get it reinstated. That wing includes Reverend Wright%u2019s Trinity UCC Church in Chicago. Few people know also, that there are many Muslim members of Reverend Wright%u2019s %u201CChristian%u201D church, a close ally of Sabeel.

Funny that the same Republicans that have now created THE LARGEST DEFICIT in American history, THE LARGEST DEBT in American history want to talk about Democrats wasting tax dollars. The notion of Republican "small government" is a joke. The facts are just the opposite. At least the Dems had a balanced budget before Cowboy George took over.

If Barack Obama didn%u2019t know about Abunimah%u2019s writings (and Abunimah says he did), the same as his claims of being unaware of Reverend Wright%u2019s remarks after 20 years, then Obama is not competent to be our President. Abunimah likes to lie and claim Al Awda has nothing to do with the ISM or Electronic Intifada, though plenty of evidence exists on the website the homepage at www.StoptheISM.com showing the contrary.

But Obama%u2019s association with the ISM through his church and lobbying in Chicago goes even deeper than just his past links to Al Awda and Ali Abunimah. His pastor, Jeremiah Wright, and the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, are both equally involved with the ISM.
