Obama: “We Can Win No Matter What”

(CBS)
From CBS News’ Maria Gavrilovic:
PITTSBURGH – Despite polls that say Barack Obama will lose tonight’s Pennsylvania primary, he is confident in winning the Democratic nomination. “I think we can win no matter what the results,” Obama said. “When I am the nominee, [Pennsylvania Governor] Ed Rendell is going to be working for me just as hard as he has been working for Senator Clinton.”
Obama continued to portray himself as the underdog in today’s primary, arguing that the progress he has made in the state over the last six weeks will be more helpful in a general election. “Should I end up being the nominee, the work that we’ve done here in Pennsylvania, I think, will be extraordinarily helpful in the general election.”
But no matter what happens tonight, the Democrats are still over a month away from selecting a nominee, according to Obama. “I have come to the conclusion that this race will continue until the last primary or caucus vote is cast,” he said. “And that’s not that far away.” The last contests are in Montana and South Dakota on June 3rd.
The campaign is already looking forward to the May 6th primaries in North Carolina and Indiana. Obama will hold a rally in Indiana tonight when the Pennsylvania results come in. Hillary Clinton will be in Philadelphia.
