Rendell: Don't Count Clinton Out

(CBS)
From CBS News' Fernando Suarez:

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA. -- During a campaign rally just north of Philadelphia in a highly industrial part of Pennsylvania, the campaign message was simple: Hillary Clinton is a fighter. The point was reinforced by the music that brought Clinton to the stage: “Eye of the Tiger,” a song made popular by the boxing movie “Rocky III.” Clinton was introduced by Gov. Ed Rendell, D-Pa., who told the crowd that calls for Clinton to drop out of the race are "ridiculous.”

With March Madness upon us as college basketball teams battle out for the NCAA championship, politicians and supporters have taken to using the games as political analogies to the current climate of the campaign trail.

“This is a basketball game,” Rendell said, “and we’re about 2 points behind with about 8 minutes to go and we’re going to come roaring back and win this thing.” Clinton stood by nodding her head as the crowd cheered.

Rendell said Clinton has been counted out before and she has come “roaring back.” He pointed to her victories in New Hampshire, Super Tuesday, Ohio and Texas saying Pennsylvanians are going to have a “deafening noise for the nation on April 22nd,” the date of the Pennsylvania primary.

When choosing which candidate to endorse, Rendell said he looked at each of their positions closely. “I looked at all their position papers and I would give Senator Obama and Senator Edwards a solid B+. I teach at Penn and I grade papers, Hillary Clinton got an A+.”

The rally at Keystone Industrial Port Complex was largley attended, primarily by union workers. When Clinton took the microphone she delivered her usual stump speech, getting the crowd fiery when she said Americans have to start working together again. Clinton said some people “wring their hands” while others “roll up their sleeves.” She pointed out that if you “are wringing your hands, you can’t roll up your sleeves.”

Clinton is scheduled to make several campaign stops in Pennsylvania tomorrow.

I want to see Hillary get a double digit win in PA. Hillary never gives up, and I want her fighting for me in the whitehouse. I think the biased media coverage has been unbelievably sad and has dictated much of this election. I have lost so much faith in the media. They really need to step back and take an honest look at their coverage. They just want to coronate Obama so badly and they are probably peeved that they keep getting proven wrong.

Hillary All The Way!

We all complain about "fat cats" choosing our leader but do you realize that only 2% of Americans are giving and investing into what is the most important election of our times. This is shameful as it is only our very own futures we are talking about. We have no right to complain about the "fats cats" picking our leaders when they are giving and we are not! You want to stop there influence and silence there voice? Every voter just give $10.00 and that would do it! We have ask Hillary to fight for us and she is doing that day in and day out putting in her 15 to 18 hours a day part. Now we need to step up and do our part! We have 10 more primaries to go and she needs all our support!

I agree with you 100% mab2008.
The media isn''t satisfied reporting the news anymore, instead it is deeply invested in manipulating it.
Unfortunately a lot of media sources are nothing more than tabloid news. I think CNN and MSNBC
are right up there at the top of the list too. I guess the male dominated media has their own agenda-corruption.

Obama has all the right numbers, pledged delegates, popular vote, and most importantly MONEY! Get a grip folks, it''s over - period.
Hillary is broke - Obama''s campaign makes money faster than the Federal Reserve can!!!
Money talks - BS walks
Obama will win the nomination no matter what happens in the remaining primaries.

The media needs to start getting the number right! The party is obviously split in votes and support and they keep pretending like it''s a slam dunk for Obama!

Hang in there Hillary! All the way to the convention!

OKAY, I CANNOT SEEM TO FIGURE THIS OUT! OBAMA DEMS SAY THAT THE SUPER DELEGATES SHOULD VOTE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE, I.E., WHO GOT MORE PLEDGED DELEGATES, WHO GOT MORE OF THE POPULAR VOTE, WHO WON THE MOST STATES, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. NOW THOSE SAME OBAMA DEMS ARE SAYING THE SUPER DELEGATES SHOULD ENDORSE NOW (PREFERABLY OBAMA, I AM SURE)! THE PRIMARIES ARE NOT OVER YET, SO HOW CAN SUPER DELEGATES ENDORSE BEFORE THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARIES??? THIS IS THE MOST INANE ELECTION I HAVE SEEN. THE MEDIA AND A "FEW" DEMOCRATS HAVE DECIDED AD NAUSEUM THAT OBAMA IS THE NOMINEE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! WHAT THESE PEOPLE, PUNDITS, FAIL TO REMEMBER IS THAT 23% OF HILLARY SUPPORTERS WILL NOT SUPPORT OBAMA!!!!! THAT DOES, IN FACT, INCLUDE ME!!! GO HILLARY - ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Neither Clinton nor Obama is going to have sufficient majority to claim the real victory necessary to govern. We need the Unity Ticket, with both candidates onboard. I prefer Clinton/Obama, I will gladly vote for Obama/Clinton. Either way.

Hmmm, I don''t think a "unity ticket" is going to happen - has gotten too contentious between the two!!! I believe some of those "super delegates" who have already endorsed Obama are looking to be in the VP spot should he become the nominee........so, as good as it would be, a "unity ticket" ain''t goin'' to happen!

Hillary is thinking about what she is always thinking about: HILLARY. She could CARE LESS about the Democratic party and the division that is taking place. Come on Pennsylvania, WAKE UP!! Vote Obama and end this thing.

Hey gdmoore2

It''s a shame there aren''t more people out there like you, putting the party first. At this point it doesn''t matter who gets the nod - too many hard feelings. Might as well get used to saying "President McCain".

What''s the Story behind the Story? You mean to say that Hillary with her 45 years experience is not mentally capable of campaigning on her own??

All I hear from the Hillary Supporters on these posts is MONICA Bill Clinton isn''t running, Hillary is? Why is it so hard for Hillary to do her own campaigning instead of being relegated to small fund raisers here in Pa.

Senator Obama has shown us that he is quite capable of doing his own campaigning, knows what hard work is and is capable of being able to speak for himself without an entourage of the rich & infamous.

Wherever Hillary goes, for example, here in Pa. that in Harrisburg, Redneck Rendell, Barbara Hafer, & the Old Guard Democrats have to come out before her stop to set the table for her.

Now Monica Bill is coming to check out our small towns. That means we''ll have to keep our young & teenage girls off the street.

What is it with this Hillary?? All we hear is she needs more money, more help, more pot, more medicine, more pep & energy, more photo opts, more organization, Anything to remake her image to appear Presidential.

Indeed, Clinton is like Rocky!

She keeps getting beat up by both Democratic back stabbers and the news media alike. We have realized that Clinton lied about her Bosnia trip, but we also know that Obama has lied about:

1) his relationship with the LUNETIC RACIST Rev. Wright
2) his involvment with the crook Tony Rezko
3) his association with the self-proclaimed Pentagon TERRORIST William C. Ayers
4) his note about his father''s arrival in the US due to Kennedy
5) his taking hundreds of thousands of $$$$$$$$$$$ from lobyists

WHAT IS IT GONG TO TAKE FOR AMERICA TO FIGURE OUT OBAMA IS A RACIST, BIGGOT, AND ANTI-SEMITIC?

DO WE HAVE TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID WITIH GEORGE BUSH?

REMEMBER IF WE HAD SLECTED GORE, WE WOULD NOT BE IN THE IRAQ MESS?

Come on people, WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need someone like Hillary to fight for us the same way she is fighing for the nomination.

It has been said that Hillary has to win PA to stay alive. She is alive and well. After the defeat of April 22, 2008, Obama will wish he never entered the race. I keep wondering why they want her to drop out. If Obama was behind, they wouldn''t want him to drop out. BE FOR REAL, HILLARY IS THE ONE FOR PRESIDENT, NOT OBAMA.

IN A SPEECH PURPORTING TO EXPLAIN HIS VIEWS ON HIS PASTORS RANTS,OBAMA EXPLAINED THAT YOU HAD TO COME FROM A BLACK CHURCH TO UNDERSTAND "BLACK THEOLOGY". PASTOR JEREMIAH WRIGHT, OBAMA''S PASTOR, SAID HE HAD BEEN INSPIRED BY THE THEOLOGY OF JAMES CONE. "BLACK THEOLOGY" AND "BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY" WAS FOUNDED BY JAMES CONE. JAMES CONE HAS PRAISED PASTOR WRIGHT AND TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IN CHICAGO AS BEING "THE CHURCH THAT MOST EMBODIES HIS (CONE) MESSAGE". SO LET''S EXAMINE CONE''S MESSAGE. "IF GOD IS NOT FOR US AND AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE, THEN HE (GOD) IS A MURDERER AND WE HAD BETTER KILL HIM." AND "WHAT WE NEED IS THE DIVINE LOVE AS EXPRESSED IN BLACK POWER, WHICH IS THE POWER OF BLACKS TO DESTROY THEIR OPPRESSORS HERE AND NOW BY ANY MEANS AT THEIR DISPOSAL." OR, BLACK THEOLOGY WILL ACCEPT ONLY THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH PARTICIPATES IN THE DESTRUCTION OF THE WHITE ENEMY." OBAMA HAS NOT BEEN HONEST WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT THE CHURCH HE HAS ATTENDED FOR 20 YEARS AND THE CONNECTIONS IT HAS TO VILE RACISTS SUCH AS JAMES CONE, LOUIS FARRAKHAN, KHALID ABDUL MUHAMMAD (NATION OF ISLAM) AND KAMAU KAMBON WHO IS QUOTED AS SAYING, "WE HAVE TO EXTERMINATE WHITE PEOPLE OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET". BARACK OBAMA HAS CERTAINLY BEEN EXPOSED REPEATEDLY OVER 20 YEARS TIME, TO THIS HATE-FILLED, RACIST TALK. EXACTLY WHAT AND HOW MUCH EFFECT HAS IT HAD ON HIS MIND AND SOUL? HOW WILL HE ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN THIS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?
