Obama and Clinton Argue Over Iraq

(CBS)

From CBS News' John Bentley

CHICAGO – Barack Obama’s campaign woke up this morning with a press release from his Democratic nemesis lauding Hillary Clinton’s “35 years of public service” and reminding them that she is a “U.S. Senator who sits on the Armed Services Committee.”

“Lacking a comparable record, Senator Obama has premised his campaign on just words, most notably the resounding speech he delivered in October 2002 against the Iraq war,” read the release. “But with the fifth anniversary of the invasion upon us, the onus is now on Senator Obama to demonstrate what he did to act on that 2002 speech when he got to the U.S. Senate.”

The Obama campaign has said several times that experience is no substitute for judgment, pointing out that Clinton voted to authorize the Iraq war in 2002. The candidate himself is expected to talk more about Iraq later today.

Obama will spend the day in Pennsylvania, the biggest prize left on the primary schedule. He’ll hold a town hall meeting outside Pittsburgh this morning, then celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Scranton at the Irish Women Society Dinner tonight at seven.

Judgement?? I don''t think Obama has shown much of that lately....Rezko, Wright, NAFTA, etc. If judgement is the basis of his campaign, I think he should walk away now because it is a moot point.

NickSP2... perhaps you didn''t read it yet, Obama just gave a lengthy dual interview here in Chicago on Rezko and Wright. His answers were pretty clear, he is not under indictment just someone he knows, his pastor says things that he doesn''t agree with. That being said, I''m willing to bet you have friends and associates that say and do things that you do not agree with. You simply can''t hold that against him, if you do then the Clintons have way more people just like rezko and wright in their camp. Norman Hsu comes to mind, so does whitewater, and what about Frank Giustra''s mining deal in Kazakhstan? Hillary is a hypocrit, and if all Obama has done wrong was to have a bad friend and belong to a popular church with a pastor who has said less than popular things... then you need to shut it. Hillary has done all of these things times ten.

Agreed. Wright made the statements--which really weren''t all that outlandish--not Obama. Rezko may be a scumbag, which, by the way, still has yet to be proven one way or another, but it doesn''t make anyone who has ever met the guy a scumbag as well. NAFTA, so what? You know every politician who denounces it is blowing smoke. There''s too much money involved.

It''s par for the course, yet opponents are saying it''s a knock against him. I don''t get it.

George W. Bush, Richard Cheney along with all the Republicans in Congress want to continue fleecing the American People%u2019s Federal Treasury at the rate of $12 BILLION DOLLARS each and every month beomg spent on their unecessary occupation of Iraq.

The total cost to the American People today is:
$503,298,089,669
With no viable plan to pay for these barrowed monies, the Republicans want to continue breaking the American Government by over spending and diverting the wealth from the people to the private sector.

HA! Formlessness, Obama bought his property from Rezko at what, $300K less than the market rate! Wow, how astonishing!

Here in Chicago we call that you scratch my back, and I''ll scratch your''s.... Our pol''s are known for such skills.

It will all come out soon enough as Rezko''s trial progresses.
