Clinton Says Obama Is "Nitpick"ing Her Record

(CBS)
From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:

PITTSBURGH -- Hillary Clinton took several questions about Barack Obama and the purgatory of Florida and Michigan delegates from reporters aboard her press plane as it took off for Scranton this morning.

Clinton held her press availability shortly after finishing a St. Patrick's Day parade appearance. She was questioned about accusations by the Obama campaign that she did not have any sort of prominent role in peace deals with Northern Ireland.

"I understand the desire of my opponent to nitpick," said Clinton, but argued that she had a role that was "validated many times" and maintained that has visited Northern Ireland for the purpose of peace agreements "more than Bill Clinton has."

"I don't know how many times Senator Obama has met with the Secretary of State from Ireland," said Clinton, maintaining that she meets with him frequently.

Clinton was asked about Tony Rezko's amount of fund-raising for the Obama campaign and the role of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, recently dismissed from the campaign, Clinton said repeatedly, "I think those are questions for Senator Obama and the Obama campaign."

On Michigan and Florida, where it has yet to be decided whether or not the two states will have the opportunity to have their delegates acknowledged in the election, Clinton said she hoped to see it happen.

"My position is to count their votes and count what they've cast or revote," said Clinton.

"It's important to send the message that we value them, we need them."

Asked if it was unfair to change the rules of the primary last minute, Clinton said "the rules are difficult" but she believes ultimately votes need to be counted and soon.

"I just want Michigan to make a decision," said Clinton.

Why have the media and voters not asked the hard questions of Hillary...
Where are your Tax returns
Where are your ear marks
Where are the donor lists for the Clinton Library
Where are the White House first Lady Papers

Lets get the real story on some HARD ISSUES
some HARD FACTS
on WHO CLINTON REALLY IS

Wouldn''t it be refreshing if the Clintons would also come clean!

Better yet, wouldn''t it be interesting if these journalists would put together two columns: one listing Mr. Obama''s lapse in ethics and in judgment , and another one for the Mrs. Clinton?

But, you got to give it to the Clinton for their ability to create chaos in order to distract attention from real issues.

It has taken the so-called journalist to discover that Mrs. Clinton had no foreign policy experience, just bogus claims, and false claims on health care, except for bungling the agenda.

It took this long to discover that her sole claim to health care success, SCHIP, was in fact based on falsehood.

Well it looks like the Clintons found an effective attack method: The Whine. "The media''s so mean to me!" "I ALWAYS get the first question!" "Barack''s nitpicking!"
They are so gross. I wish I understood what the appeal was. I wish more people questioned the idea of a former two-term first lady as President. I wish people called her on her skeletons ("Bill, they''re asking hard questions again! Billll! I''m just a girl! Waaaaaa!")
Too much power concentrated on too few people with too much to hide. And it stinks.

leef53 says it best:

Why doesn''t the press ask the tough questions?

Where are your Tax returns
Where are your ear marks
Where are the donor lists for the Clinton Library
Where are the White House first Lady Papers

I used to look forward to these articles. Obama and Hillary are both nitpicking! The press is saturated and the arguments now tedious.

What does it take to ask about those tax returns? If if she refuses comment, that''s news worthy!

I''m sorry, last time I checked claiming false information on a federal resume was grounds for immediate dismissal.
Hillary, it''s been proven that you were not involved in writing SCHIP.
Hillary, you are running based on your healthcare experience, but you lied about it.

Why is it Obama discloses things, but Hillary covers them up. Admit mistakes and correct them.
America can''t afford another secretive president like Bush.

I grow weary of this primary, weary of the fighting, the negativity. I grow afraid for the Democratic chances now McCain has been settled on as the Republican nominee - how is ill intended cross party voting going to effect the remaining primaries?
The longer the Democratic nomination drags on undecided the more harm done to the eventual nominee - a nominee that should have been acknowledged already given there is a clear front runner - we all know that Hillary cannot overtake Obama%u2019s delegate lead unless the decision of the people is overturned. In equality %u2013 this matter should have been settled and not persisting.
I''ve seen so many people standing up and standing together, coming together to massive events, to call for change. The spirit of that has been echoing around the world. That brought tears to my eyes and revitalized my soul. But then I have also seen so much ugliness, fear, smears trying to tear that apart - that grows louder by the day and it is truly dismal. The monster that has been nurtured in society is rearing its ugly head %u2013 lashing out, refusing to die. But it must, for our sakes, it must die %u2013 we must challenge ourselves to rise above and go forwards in a more positive way.
Please America, please %u2013 you and the world, we need to heal now. Let us heal. We are the people %u2013 we are more important than money, than economy, we are the people and each other and this planet %u2013 these are the most important things we have.

I''ve heard the common sense is getting more and more uncommon and after reading this tripe, I can see the truth of it. Exactly WHAT does OBAMA stand for that you are so proud of? He spouts all those words and never SAYS anything. Get Some Sense

If you are up for some reading, go to Obama''s website and check out the 64 page blue print for change document and compare it to the scant policy information on Hillary''s sight. Most of Obama''s speaches are on broad themes that are best conveyed in a speech, the in depth policy is on his site. Hillary speeches seem to mainly be asertions that are only occasionally based in reality. As far as policy? I see little in writing, this makes for easy revision as polls shift. If it were true that Obama has no substance, do you really think he would consistantly do so much better with more educated voters?

I came across a video on youtube regarding the relationship of the Clinton''s with Peter Paul and help me understand how this story can be so silent when a non-story like Rezko is covered daily.

What is important is that we find out why Clinton backed NAFTA and then bought shares in Indian outsourcing companies that profited from Americans losing jobs. Why does she refuse to disclose her income tax returns the same way Geraldine Ferraro did. When the tax returns did come out Ferraro was finished and Mondale lost the election. After the election the House Ethics Committee officially criticized Ferraro for mishandling campaign finances. So why did Hilary Clinton appoint her in charge of campaign finance. Some kind of judgement that is.

What about Peter Paul? Why is nobody bring up this video floating around? Bill Morris has some VERY enlightening things to say in this video. As a woman, the more I learn about the "real" Hillary, the more I seriously could NOT vote for her. She is on a power trip for her and Mr. Bill. Ohh No....Mr. Bill!!!

It''s kinda funny we are Americans who stand up and show the rest of the world we are together as one. News media actually do the opposite, tear down whenever they can. It sells, brings ratings up and makes money for the corporations. What embarrasses me are people''s ignorance. Hillary is a prime example on MI & FL, trying to count the votes for her gain. She doesn''t care about the voters, only her campaign matters.
We are seeing a prime example of the uneducated voters that Hillary brags about. I see some can even collect a thought and type them down on this feedback.
Its more important than ever to teach our young minds to stop the hatred and think before you speak. There are many out there that are lost in their pitiful lives. God usually deals with them. All you can do is hope and try to teach your family and others not to hate, understand before you speak.
All three candidates have skeletons in their closets. Hillary & Bill are the worse and the most dishonest. McCain has the lobbyist running everything he does so it will be government as usual. Obama is not perfect. Rezko & the preacher. I guess you associate with people who do wrong or say something, you are the same. That''s like saying Robin Givens, who was married to Mike Tyson, should be the heavy weight champion of the world because of her association. Just like Hillary is using as experience being married to Bill. Both are ridiculous!
Clinton supporters & crazy republicans wake up. Obama will win.

Senator Clinton and Senator Obama reached an agreement the other day to tone down the rhetoric. Notice that when asked about Rezko and Wright, Senator Clinton said those were questions for Senator Obama and not for her. Things they are a changing. Political fact based records and political stances are open to debate, but some other things are not. I am an Obama supporter, and like many Clinton supporters, I''ve found myself angry over the past weeks. But lately I''ve been taking a long look at my own heart. We''re all one party. Would any of us really rather have Senator McCain and all of the young people who will die in his wars? Are we so self indulgent in our anger that we would vote to kill America''s young in a war that we all believe is wrong? So I say here: I will work hard for my candidate, but if Senator Clinton wins, I will support her strongly. Please, lets remember that there are larger issues at work here. Let''s not allow ourselves to be so distracted by our own anger that we forget that. Love to Clinton supporters from an Obama supporter.

How quickly the country forgets names like Whitewater and the Rose Law Firm of Hilary Clinton. Names like Jim Guy Tucker, Webster Hubbell and Jim and Susan McDougal. More than 14 associates convicted of more than 40 crimes, bribery, fraud, tax evasion, conspiracy, and embezzlement.
Most were pardoned by Bill Clinton. Hilary crooked the deals, Bill pardoned the criminals. We had mysterious suicides and an endless stream of individuals from Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey and Monica Lewinsky that were used and abused without so much as an apology. Their personal characters were assassinated and their lives ruined in the most disgusting period of American History ever witnessed. Obama hasn''t mentioned any of this, and Clinton says he is nit picking. Now we find she was on the take from Rezko and hasn''t disclosed it. Look out.

I''ve been a member of Trinity for 24 years. I''ve been reading the comments and I''m glad to know that the intelligent people understand that you cannot define a person''s ministry from a 30-second soundbite taken out of context. Before the tape was cut, Reverend Wright was saying "it''s in the Bible." Perhaps if they had allowed it to play out, someone might have heard and understood the correlation between what he was saying and the Bible text he was making reference to. Or better yet, why don''t they play the whole sermon -- or at least the whole sentence? Then you might know why Reverend Wright has taught at theological schools throughout the nation, is invited to speak at conferences all over the country as well as internationally. What Obama''s church has taught him is to love all people regardless of race, origin or gender. That is what his vision of change is all about. That''s why people of all colors, ages, economic backgrounds can be seen at his rallies. That''s why America is voting for him in record numbers, while the real hate mongers are busy on the boards posting stupid things on issues about which they haven''t a clue.

I find it interesting that the media has completely blocked out any mention of the verified report that it was Hillary Clinton''s camp and not Obama''s that phoned the Canadian Embassy in Washington and told Clinton friend, Michael Wilson, Canadian Ambassador to U.S. to take what Hillary said in the debate "with a grain of salt." Then they accuse Obama of lying because Goolsbee took a tour in the Chicago consulate and spoke to Georges Rioux. But Obama did not lie, nor did the Canadian consulate when they denied that a top Obama staff member had phoned the consulate in Washington. There is a huge difference between making a phone call to the Canadian Embassy in Washington and being invited to tour the Canadian consulate in Chicago. There''s a huge difference between Michael Wilson, Ambassador and Georges Rioux, Consulate. And there''s a difference between Clinton top staff member and Obama unpaid advisor. And Clinton ignored the fact that the Canadian Embassy and Rioux in Chicago said that Goolsbee never made the remarks attributed to him by DeMara''s "memo" and DeMara, the memo writer, has yet to be heard from since, yet she continues to report this debunked lie as fact as she makes speeches on the campaign trail. She has no shame, but her supporters should be ashamed of her, and the press should be ashamed of itself for such biased reporting.

This week it was disclosed that Hillary lied about the extent of her involvement in the Northern Ireland Peace Treaty (she made a speech, encouraging women to get involved); she lied about opening the Bosnian borders, and comedian Sinbad explained the borders were opened the day before he, Sheryl Crowe and Mrs. Clinton arrived for a USO Tour. We learned that she lied about SCHIP, but the media was too full of a 30-second soundbyte from a compilation of sermons given Christmas, and 7 years ago by the retired pastor of Barack Obama''s church. With Clinton basing her entire campaign on experience, and now we learn she has none -- which is more important. A few words spoken by a man who is no longer Obama''s pastor, or three significant lies directly out of the mouth of the woman who would want to be your president? And unlike their treatment of Barack Obama, when the media blasted this information all over without giving him the courtesty to comment, their only mention of one of Ms. Clinton''s lies is the fact that they asked her and she said it wasn''t true. Where are the headlines about these lies? Where are the special TV reports? Where are the sensational stories about the impending Peter Paul v. Clinton trial? What about the $850,000 in contributions from Norman Hsu that she returned? Where are her income tax returns? Why won''t she disclose her earmarks? I''m sure there''s room for these stories now that they have beat the Pastor Wright and Tony Rezko stories to death.

Facts never stood in the way of the Clinton camp. Just like their bogus claims on foreign policy and SCHIP, and pay-to-play earmarks (69% Clinton%u2019s corporate earmark recipients contributed to her campaign: LA Times Dec. 10, 2007).

Sooner or later the truth comes out; I hope the Obama shines light on these and other policy-ethics issues.

a quarter million in contributions from a slum lord who helped advance your career isn''t a "non" story.

But much like whitewater and the disinformation from the neo-con hack Ken Star (who in the end found nothing to prosecute)...perception is everything.

It ISN''T that Hillary doesn''t have her issues, exactly who in politics doesn''t have them?

The real problem is that we are now 8 months from the general election. If you don''t think the republican spin machine isn''t going to tear Obama a new one with his 20year relationship with a very racist minister, think again.

The only question is this. Can Obama sufficiently disavow his relationship with Rev. Wright (who clearly doesn''t care for non-black america)? Don''t think he can do it. This should have been vetted long ago, early in the primary season.

do believe there are some very hidden, powerful and self-serving people behind Obama given his unprecedented rise to celebrity.

Tax returns, earmarks, donor lists, and first lady papers have absolutely no bearing on the real issues facing our country. This is another Obama camp tactic to get us off track--take attention off of the Rezko and Rev. Wright connection and blast his opponent. tell me any of those documents will fix our economy, end the war in Iraq, create more jobs, fix the mortgage crisis, etc... All the demands for these documents are nothing more than a "Red Herring"...to get americans side tracked from what is really important about selecting our next president. Obama''s cult must think americans are stupid.
