Clinton Starts Focusing on Pennsylvania

(CBS)
From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:

WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton will receive the endorsement of Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl at a rally today, according to a campaign source.

Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato will also be on hand to lend his support to Clinton.

Clinton makes two stops today in Pittsburgh where she's expected to address the continued rise in gas prices and to react to President Bush's economic speech.

Pennsylvania's April 22 primary will be a difficult fight between Clinton and Barack Obama, which Clinton supporter Gov. Ed Rendell, D-Pa., noted.

“There’s no question. Hillary Clinton is a better fit for those counties, is a better fit for southwest Pennsylvania. But I think either one of them is going to carry the state in the fall,” said Rendell today on MSNBC.

Rendell's comments come the day after Clinton campaign strategist Mark Penn told reporters: "If Barack Obama can’t win there, how can he win the general election?”

Both Clinton and Obama agreed yesterday to a nationally-televised debate in Pennsylvania before the April primary.

St. Patrick's Day parades are in store for Clinton this weekend -- she'll double-up Saturday with festivities in Pittsburgh and Scranton.

I think Obama benefited from race issue since SC primary. From exit polls, Obama won 85-90% of Black votes may not good for Black people. It is understandable for Blacks to vote their candidate, but it may be even better off in long run to vote for Clinton. First, it will show to Whites that Blacks are on issues not on races themselves. This will bring the country together. If they one-sidedly voted for Obama, at least it will leave the impression on Whites that Blacks are voted racially, not the Whites. Second, to vote objectively and consciously for the best candidate will be better to the country, it, in turn, beneficial to Blacks also. That to believe that 90% of Blacks think Obama is better candidate than Clinton is objective is less-supportive. Third, Clintons had good relations to Blacks in history. It is time for Black to show their supports to Clintons, too. If someone did some favor to you, you shall certainly do the same. Finally, in my view, it is better for Clinton to be elected for Blacks than Obama, because Clinton can implement policies that are good for Blacks without being charged with racial-oriented while Obama may have problems for such policies that maybe charged as racial-oriented from his opposition. So my view is that it is not wise and not good for Blacks to overwhelmingly vote for Obama. I am an Asian-American . I hope my opinion can be viewed as positive to Blacks.

I hope she is a kinder, gentler Clinton in Pennsylvania. It doesn''t matter if you think he benefited. The bottom line is that he didn''t initiate it, the Clinton campaign did. I''m sure he spent a lot more time responding to racial inuendo from her camp than he would have preferred. Obama is just as strong on issues as Clinton. So black people may actually like what he has to say and not just the fact that he''s black. Why don''t people seem to get that? There are white people who like it as well.

electxyz, don''t be naive. This is exactly has her advisers hoped it would be. It''s take the focus off of the issues, because she was losing when the focus was on the issues. This is exactly where she wants it. And by the way, black people are not the only ones who should be disturbed by these divisive tactics. If you don''t understand that racism affects this country as a whole, you have missed the point. Maybe you have to be black to understand why black people are fed up with this treatment and may not want to vote for someone who disrespects them in this way. Perhaps if the comments were made about Asian-Americans, you''d feel differently.

btw, who do you think put the sermon on U tube about Obama''s pastor? The Clintons want this to be about race. That''s the only way they can win. They were not winning when the focus was on issues. Now they are hoping that people will simply vote for them because of white vs black. That has been a problem in our country for years and they are banking on it taking them all the way to the white house. She wins very heavily in rural areas. That''s not an accident. Things are better in this country, but racism is still a problem. And they used their divisive tactics to tap into that and use it to their advantage. As a black person, it pains me to think that racism may end up costing the democrats the white house in November. But if Clinton thinks she''s going to divide and conquer now and then say she is sorry and all is forgotten, she can''t be more wrong. There are black and white people who will not forget what her campaign has done and they will not vote for her in November. It''s like someone slapping you and then saying, oh I''m sorry. If you didn''t mean to do it, then why did you do it?

Now it''s time for the America people to wake-up and smell the coffee that Obama is not good for America, his judgment is very flawed for being associated with a racist and bigoted Pastor, who was also working in his campaign in a leadership role, a slum-lord and God knows who or what else questionable Obama is involved with or in, but inquiring minds want to know, Obama is guilty by association, because bird''s of a feather usually flock together, and if it looks, sounds, and quacks like a duck, I can come to fair and sound conclusion that it''s a duck.

People need to write the Democratic Party and the media outlets in the millions of letters to demand and pressure Obama to withdraw himself as an Democratic candidate for President and if he refuses, pull the plug on him anyway, America does not need a Presidential candidate who has once sat under a racist bigot like Pastor Wright for 20 yrs out of a church in Chicago, ILL, and truly believe his pastor%u2019s teachings does not affect him at all, Obama is lying when he says he does not agree with all of his teachings, this man Hates America and for everything it stands for, Wright has verbally made know his views about America openly doing his sermons, so Obama cannot deny that he listened and continue to set under this ***, if Obama didn''t agree with all of Wright''s teaching''s he should have denounced them and joined another church, but he did not leave, he even made the Pastor his mentor, So Obama is guilty by association of sitting under Wright''s racist and bigotry teachings, and having him work in his campaign. This now clearly explains the reason why Obama did not salute the America Flag or wear a flag lapel on his coat like other politicians so often do, remember that in most situations "silence is consent", and that "Birds Of A Feather Flock Together".

Attention voters from pennsylvania, please be aware that the reason Mrs. Clinton succeed in the election by few points here in Texas, Is because she placed a malignant seed in the mind of latino voters, many with no education or reading skills, by placing a photo of Senator Obama with a Kenia Attire, implying that he was a terrorist. Latino voters were frantic, confused and fearful and voted for her, Later when they knew it was propaganda, they got dissappointed and regretfull.

Dear Mrs. Clinton After pennsylvania primary is time for you to reconsider to withraw from the race, your campaign is causing too much damage not only to the minority population that is about 40% of USA population, but to the democratic party and to the whole country, wake up from your denial and measure risk vs. benefit. You must exit with grace.

I was at the Clinton rally, and I agreed with everything that she said. She has a lot of experience and she really does know what she''s talking about.

I''m an Black American Male who believes that I believe now that the truth has finally came out will still come out about Obama''s past, America is going to be even more shocked, so people put your seat belts on and fasten them tight, because a steep roller coaster of Obama life is going to be revealed before you even faster, now that the news media his finally got some guts to start sharing with America all of Obama''s deep dark secrets that he thought would never come up and out, before he was mistakenly nominated for Presidency.

I recommend that the mature voters lead teach and guide the younger voters in a different direction from Obama, because they have tremendously been brained washed by Obama''s occult like speeches, it''s going to be hard to get them to accept that Obama is not good for America, but if the older voters stick together and really mentor our young people, they will begin to fall away from Obama''s campaign and grip hold on their young minds one by one, some of these young people really don''t know the election process, and many have voted for the first time in their lives, Obama''s campaign rallies to them where like going to a late night rock concert, they begin to follow Obama like he was a popular rock or Rap star, so many of our young people''s minds has to be purged and reconditioned away from Obama''s compelling grip, it''s like being on a ill-legal drug and have to go through drug detoxicifican in order to come down off it, this is how far some of our young people his been deceived and brain washed by the Obama campaign.

Pennsylvanians,

Please do not forget, how your jobs vanished through NAFTA and China''s WTO entrance.

Both of these were Clinton White House initiatives.

We have heard a number of clergy using extremely provocative statements in the news. Especially from the so called religious right. If you really want some info on paster Wright and Obama''s church you can go to his website and click on blog. You will see that the new paster will be a white female. I think the Clintons did have support of many blacks before she allowed her campaign to strategically exploit racial bias, why would somebody support her after that? I am a white middle aged female and I''m sure that, just like I do, many black people support a candidate because of who they think will do the best job for America and the people. Please don''t assume that they are all voting for race, just as every woman who is voting for Hillary isn''t neccesarily doing it because of her gender.
I know there are some negatives for Obama, but it sure isn''t like Clinton is pure. I think he has the most positives going for him. (no matter how over anxious people get over pastor Wright). Please don''t flatter yourself to think that anybody who doesn''t think like you do and support the same candidate that you do is brainwashed. Thank You.
I am supporting no drama Obama!

Obama needs to be sat down, by guilt by association with a pastor racist and bigot who been his mentor for over 20yrs, All brainwashed Obamanites, who still support a man no matter what he''s been involved in really scares me.

As An African American male, I denounce Obama, and people must show him the door before he loses this election for the Democratic Party, Obama has no chance of winning against McCain now, Obama is tainted, and non-electable, who in their right mind would vote for a man that his sat under a known racist for over 20yrs and not take on some of his teachings? Hillary is our only chance to win now.

Hillary was against NAFTA all along, her husband was the one that thought it would be helpful Americans. She''s always said trade was the difference between her and her husband.

Obama should be a past presence in the campaign, but instead he''s still winning? Obama does not have a campaign this is more an occult, people who are a member of an occult can''t seem to break a way from it''s leader, because the leader have some kind of satanic hold on their minds, where they could not disband from them even if they wanted to, this reminds me of the Obama campaign, his followers are so mesmerized and hypnotized by this mans speeches that they can no longer make sound, rationale, informed judgments, or decisions whether their leader are right or wrong in his or her thinking processes, this is very scary to me.

This also is how Jim Jones of the Jonestown Massacre was able to get his followers to drink tainted kool-aid that eventually lead to their deaths by the thousands. Obama seem to have some kind of satanic mind control over his followers, because these people are still willing to vote Obama by the droves no matter what his twisted beliefs are.

Those of us with sound minds need to continue writing and calling the DNC Chairman Howard Dean and all the media outlets to get them to pressure Obama to quit his campaign, because he is not going to do it on his own unless he''s under tremendous political and personal pressure to do so. People with sounds minds, please do not send anymore financial support to Obama''s campaign, attend his rallies, or vote for him anymore throughout the rest of these primaries, a clear and strong message needs to be sent to everyone that American''s, who are in their right frame of mind will not in any way tolerate a candidate who has sat under a racist and bigoted Pastor''s teaching for over 20yrs, and did not get up and leave the church or dis-banded his relationship with that pastor in all capacities.

I see us Americans who are in their right frame of minds, need to think and make decisions for those who are not, due to being sting by the Obama bee. We must now strongly cry out loud and spare not, in order to help the media and the DNC do its job and the thing right in order to save our party and America, by having Obama to quit this campaign and go back to Chicago Ill with his friend Oprah Winfery.

By the way, I would like to find out whether Oprah attended this church off and on through the years as well? this will also help explain why Oprah all of a sudden come out and endorse this man because he was black, and Oprah may also be one or a former Pastor J. Wright Church Member.
