Huckabee's Moral Victory...One Primary Late

(CBS)
From CBS News' Joy Lin:

NEW YORK CITY -- Mike Huckabee’s odds of winning the nomination are mathematically slim but for the scrappy, comparatively penniless Huckabee to stay in the race while his well-financed opponent, Mitt Romney, suspends his campaign is a victory for the Arkansan.

Always skeptical of Romney’s moral compass, Huckabee – a poor man’s candidate – has resented how lavishly Romney spent his own money to finance a steamroll of ads.

“My feeling is if anyone should step aside, maybe Mr. Romney should. After all, he’s the one that spent 100 million dollars to have the same market share that I’ve had for seven million,” said Huckabee this weekend after Romney called it a two-man race between and McCain.

“I would say that anyone with an MBA from Harvard business school probably would look at that kind of analysis and say, ya know his product isn’t selling as well as mine is for the amount of money he spent on the market.”

That being said, Huckabee’s competition has always dropped out one primary date late. Fred Thompson dropped out after South Carolina – not before adequately siphoning support from Huckabee’s evangelical base and contributing to Huckabee’s 3-point loss there. Rudy Giuliani didn’t drop out of Florida until he edged Huckabee out of third place and threw his support behind McCain. And Romney’s “suspension” comes after he split the non-McCain delegates with Huckabee on Super Tuesday.

Give it up, Huckabee. The south is finished voting and no one else in the country believes you are really a conservative or presidential material. The very man who should have been the republican nominee for the good of his party and his country has stepped aside. Why not follow his lead and do the same? Or is your quest more personal and less focused on the good of the party and the American people? What you do in the next few days will speak volumes about who you really are! Hang it up!!!

The conservative radio talk show hosts and liberal media (Who like to think that they are the kingmakers) They TRIED to shut Governor Huckabee down- He took his case straight to the people and BEAT the Romney money machine..

%u201CI want to make real sure that he (Romney) understands something. This old Arkansas boy is not for sale. He doesn%u2019t have enough money to buy me. I%u2019m not some troubled company that he can buy, sell off the assets and send us home. There%u2019s a whole lot of people like me in this country who are tired of people waving their checkbooks at us and making us think they own us and they can buy us. Well you can%u2019t buy us. You can%u2019t even rent us. We%u2019re not for sale. We%u2019re going to the polls Tuesday and we%u2019re going to show America this country is about ordinary people who believe in the extraordinary power of the American dream and we%u2019re going to prove it at the ballot box Tuesday.%u201D - Governor Mike Huckabee on Monday Feb 4th

It''s NOT THE PUNDITS, the pollsters, the Radio hosts, or establishment POLITICIANS, it''s the PEOPLE WHO DECIDE! Way to shut their FAT mouths Governor Huckabee!!!!

I predict Huckabee will be in play in Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississipi, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Nebraska, & Ohio & even Wisconsin....but go ahead and continue to underestimate him and be prepared to be shocked once again!

Conservatives will vote for Huckabee because he is the only conservative(always was the only conservative). The masses will vote for Huckabee because of his great ideas and appeal to the average guy. I''m dissapointed in Rush and Haniity! I thought they were the voice for us. They chose their wallets before the peoples choice!

The ONLY reason why Huckabee won the south is because people in the south are religious bigots. Huckabee is corrupt, dim-witted, and generaly useless. He does poorly outside of the south becuase people see him for what he is... a charlatin. Makes me ashamed to be a republican in the south. I voted for Mitt Romney.

HUCK has proved he is not scared to Fight when the Odds are against him. THAT MAKES HIM A CHAMPION.

Had Fred&Romney dropped after NH, he would be the front runner now.

He proved, HEART is Greater than WALLET. IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE DECIDING THE ELECTION, NOT THE MONEY. HUCK''S VICTORY IS PEOPLE''S VICTORY.

Now there is no valid reason for not voting for Ron Paul. We''ll end up with a liberal for President regardless, and it might be good to send a message to RNC and GOP leaders that we, the people are more concerned for ourselves and our nation, than we are worried about Republicans winning another one. Better to spend four years fighting the damage a Democrat will cause than suffer the self inflicted wounds of a McCain Presidency. It''ll be a cold day in hell before you see my conservative, independent little Texas A$$ voting for McCain!

Mike Huckabee is a breath of fresh air! He may or may not be able to win the nomination, but a man with morals, convictions, honesty and good heartedness-what a contrast the Clinton''s (you get them both)-liberal, immoral, dishonest, adulterer, liar, un-godly-need I say more.....All things work together for good for those who Love the Lord are called by His name...I''ll go withn a man who loves God-Jesus Christ any day- this day choose blessing or cursing- we''ll get a choice and we will have the consequences one way or the other-god is in charge of this world and ultimately this nation will go the way He chooses... Didn''t we already give the Clintons'' one chance....surely that administration was not blessed by God !

They''re both inept, unqualified and woefully inexperienced...who gives a rip how they run their mouths??

MIKE!
You never cease to impress me! Every day for the last month I have read that there isn''t even a remote possibility of you winning the nomination. They said you''d be out weeks ago. Yet, you prevail!
Most announcers expected you to ONLY get Arkansas on Tuesday. Yet, what do they know?
Now they say you can''t beat McCain...I will back you fully until that last delegate is elected.
GOD BLESS you MIKE! You truly are a breath of fresh air!

Romney made a great farewell speech to gracefully bow out of the race, I commend him on that.

After getting all that exposure, he can now set his sights on 2012 with renewed energy.

But in the interim, if you are a Republican who wants to keep conservative values in the party it is super imperative you cast your vote for Huckabee.

McCain is a war hero for sure, but his stances on human cloning, family values and border security run closer on the liberal side.

McCain is a straight talker for sure, but with 8 years of Bush''s "my way or the highway" attitude it has frozen our relationship with many countries

And with McCain being 72 years old, it''s going to be a real challenge physically and mentally to keep up with the aggressive%u3000schedule.

Huckabee on the other hand, is a true conservative, one that totally matches the Republican party platform.

Huckabee has 10 years experience running a government and was even voted the best governor in America by Time Magazine.

Do you see how the media has been keeping Mike Huckabee out of the national spotlight as much as possible? It''s because they know he is the one candidate that can beat the Democrates this year with huge cross over appeal.

Plus the Senate and House got hammered this year because of the "my way or the highway" stance attidude that Bush and McCain support.

Vote for Mike Huckabee if you want to save the Republican party.

Joy Lin,

It is so nice to see you today. You are the one reporter that just "reported the news" as a journalist should. Thank you again for being a real journalist throughout the entire first half of this race.

Governor Mike Huckabee has withstood the test of time in this race. Mike Huckabee is an American that does not know the word quit. He would not, should not, and will not!

Mike Huckabee is a symbol of American strength. Through all odds, he still stands on his feet and with honor.

This race has been a political battlefield. Mike Huckabee had the least amount of ammunition, and the least amount of troops going into the battle. He held the hill at odds of more than 50 to 1. Mike will not lose this hill or this battle. He will secure this nomination and go on to win the White House!!

Uh-Rah to our next Commander-in-Chief. The Honorable, President Huckabee!

Great job Huckabee. The media tricked us into thinking you were done 2 weeks ago, and that the only 2 choices we had were Romney and Mccain.

My mom got robo called and her call was Romney saying there were only 2 choices left in the Republican race. Him and Mccain, implying Paul and Huckabee dropped out already.

We all feel like we were lied to and it''s too late to get my moms vote back.

I will vote for Huckabee now.

I urge others to switch to Huckabee as well.

Here is a link I someone posted that showed the robo calls.....

* * AP Breaking News Alert * * *

Evangelical leader James Dobson to endorse Mike Huckabee for GOP presidential nod.

James Dobson, one of the nation''''s most prominent evangelical Christian leaders, is about to endorse former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the Associated Press has learned. Dobson, founder of Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Focus on the Family, talked to the GOP presidential hopeful Thursday and later was to release a statement explaining his choice, said Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for Dobson.

Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family, holds perhaps more influence over rank-and-file Christians than any other evangelical leader in the country. He has stated that he won''''t support John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson, leaving just Huckabee and Mitt Romney.

And now with Mitt Romney dropping out of the race, the decision becomes very clear that Mike Huckabee is the conservative choice.

His backing carries enormous weight, because of the number of voters he reaches via his organization, radio show and is symbolic.

This represent a major validation of Huckabee''''s presidential candidacy.

Mike Huckabee is truly an authentic conservative and a fine man.
1. Huckabee is 100% prolife--the REAL thing!
2. Huckabee supports the marriage amendment. Mike Huckabee has always consistently stood his ground for the sanctity of marriage.
3. Huckabee is a firm supporter of the 2nd Amendment.
4. Huckabee is the only candidate to sign a pledge to not allow amnesty. His 9-point immigration plan is more extensive than any other candidates'' plans.
5. Huckabee cut taxes more than 90 times in his state. He is a fiscal conservative.
6. Huckabee believes in a strong military. He holds to the Reagan doctrine of strength through peace.
7. During his 10+ years as a governor, Huckabee showed himself to be friendly to homeschooling. 8. Huckabee''s plan to abolish the IRS and have a Fair Tax is as conservative as you can get on taxes.
9. Huckabee will help this nation to once and for all be free from dependence on foreign oil, and he has established a timetable to do that.
10. Huckabee believes that we are one nation *under God*.

There is no other leading candidate in this race who even compares to the authentic-conservative credentials of Mike Huckabee.

I will vote for Huckabee when TEXAS has its primary!

I''ve been reading how Huckabee is trying to woo the Romney supporters. LOL. It would sure be a cold day in hell when they thought Huckabee was their savior.

Huckabee burned that bridge! I''m voting for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is an honest, decent human being who is right about a great deal.

Huckabee is a dishonest and indecent human being who is wrong about a great deal.

Go,Mike,GO! Christian voters, Mike Huckabee is your man! Why? He is the ONLY candidate who knows better than to split GOD''S state of Israel, by giving a part of this precious land to the Palestinians (These people are terrorists, as you know)! Bush is attempting to split this land right now, as would all the other candidates if elected president. This is only one of many reasons to vote for Mike Huckabee as your president. He is Pro-life, Anti-IRS, and Pro-small Business! This man is the ONLY candidate who has seen life as a common man, like most of us. He truly cares for people. The press can get it wrong, as they did on Super Tuesday, when Mike won the South--Let''s help Mike Huckabee win the republican nomination and the election for President of the United States!

Increasingly, Mike Huckabee is what Leadership looks like ( http://snipr.com/leaderlook ). He''s an adroit public speaker; he''s all about calling his listeners to "do something," to awaken them to their own empowerment, and summon them to action in order that "Main Street," and not "Wall Street," will prevail in guarding the values and beliefs upon which the Republic was founded.

Huckabee puts his listeners at ease, and reassures them, articulating clear concepts in a natural, easy style (no doubt something well-cultivated as a pastor). One can easily imagine sitting comfortably with Mike over a cup of coffee at the Main Street Cafe.

Most importantly, Huckabee is ONE with the FairTax grassroots movement ( http://snipr.com/nextrung ). Romney''s recent WEAK response to FairTax questioning on %u201CThis Week with Geo. Stephanopoulos ( http://snipurl.com/stephanopoulosdebate )%u201D drew a sharp contrast between Huckabee and all other presidential front-runners who will not embrace it. Huckabee understands that what''''s wrong with the income tax can''''t be fixed with "a tap of the hammer, nor a twist of the screwdriver." That his opponents cling to the destructive Tax Code, the IRS, preserving political power of granting tax favors at continued cost to - and misery of - American families, invigorates his campaign''''s raison d''''etre. %u201CMain Street%u201D will have to demand ( http://snipr.com/scrapthecode ) that their legislators deliver the bill to Huckabee, if elected.

Thank you for this article. Most of the media is spinning the story of Romney''s departure to claim that McCain has "sealed" the nomination. They now completely sweep under the rug the fact that Romney''s departure, combined with the growing apprehension of conservatives about McCain; combined with Huckabee''s very strong showing on SuperTuesday; combined with James Dobson''s endorsement of Huckabee today will all give him Huckamomentum!

Conservatives, there is still a chance, we do not have to accept John McCain as our nominee.Until he secures all the delegates needed, he is not our nominee. Quickly rally around Mike Huckabee, he can still win this thing if he has all the conservative support..Lets join together and save our country from McCain,Clinton and Obama liberalism..

I''ll vote for Huckabee...
But, it might be a Mc Cain Huckabee ticket anyway.

Huckabee is not my first choice. Duncah Hunter was. But since there is no strong conservatives, Huckabee is all we''ve got.

I don''t like Huckabee''s Compromise.

But, as a Christian I have to go with a Christian running for President. But, I still think it will be John Mc Cain. I think Huckabee will Vice President.

I''m tired of hearing that McCain has the nomination tied up. The media wants to choose our candidates and we are letting them! Until the Republican candidate has 1191 votes, he does not have the nomination. Huckabee still has a chance if conservative delegates give him their delegates. There are also plenty of states still out there. Texas, in particular, needs to put their support behind Huckabee to make it happen. I''m going to continue to have faith!

Hahaha! I love what Romney has done. He''s put the Huckster in quite a spot! Now he can''t pull out without giving away that he was in cahoots with McCain the whole time. I can''t help but wonder if he knows he was being played this whole time, or if he really thinks he had a chance for the presidency.

Oh well, it doesn''t matter now. He served the purpose that he was elevated for: Mitt is now out of the race; for now. While he might have the southern evangelical vote down, the rest of the nation is pretty much of a consensus view: Huck is not a president.

Mike Huckabee and this race remind me of the two women that came to Solomon to decide who was the real mother. As you recall Solomon pulled out his sword and threatened to divide the baby in half and give half to each woman. The real mother agreed to give the baby to the other woman.
Mitt Romney is like the real mother. He forgo his position to help conservatives or what is left of the party

Mike Huckabee has always been the only candidate in this race for many of us. I have always said that not only is he an authentic conservative, he is an authentic human being.

We like Mike because he is out there fighting for us, the average everyday American.

Governor Mike Huckabee was kicked in the knees by Romney, but Mike got up and decided to keep fighting. He did not accept failure and he will fight to the end. His true American spirit has inspired us to love our Country again.

We are all going to go out and vote for Huckabee, because we are voting for ourselves, our children, and our future.

This race will be one sided from now on and Mike Huckabee will be the 44th President of the United States!

Mike Huckabee is the REAL DEAL. Despite the negative ads to the contrary he is a true conservative on ALL the major issues. He has a GREAT record of accomplishment in Arkansas. And lest we forget, he is by FAR the best COMMUNICATOR in the republican race. This skill just MIGHT come in handy as we debate the Democrats regarding a vision for America''s future in the fall. Mike Huckabee deserves to be THE last man standing in the republican race!!!I am proud to support him!
