Edwards To Visit New Orleans

(CBS)
From CBS News' Aaron Lewis:

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- John Edwards returns to New Orleans tomorrow where he will deliver what the campaign bills as a "major address on poverty."

The return to the city where Edwards launched his campaign in late December 2006 is an attempt to inject his voice back into the national scene following disappointing third place finishes in New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.

While Louisiana is not a Super Tuesday state, Edwards said that tomorrow's speech will prove his devotion to New Orleans' recovery following Hurricane Katrina and to the issue of poverty at large.

"I think it's a living, breathing example of the heart of my message, what I'm talking about," Edwards told reporters following a campaign stop in Jefferson City, Missouri today.

"It's the perfect indication of the conditions of poverty that exist in America, particularly in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, which is where I'll be."

Following the speech, Edwards will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to construct homes at the Musicians' Village, an area of the city most devastated by the hurricane in 2005.

It''s gratifying to see news- ANY news about John Edwards in the flurry and blurry of the congested and repetitive coverage of Clinton/Obama. Don''t people have a brain? Edwards is clearly superior to the other two. Oh, and did you know that Mike Gravel is ALSO still in the race and has IMMENSELY valid points and truths to add to the debate? From the ridiculous fraudulent media coverage, one would think that there are only 2 Democratic candidate. Disgusting.

John Edwards is the only one that can and will do anything for the working class. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton know the talk, but can''t and won''t do the walk. There current records reflect big talk on camera, and no delivery off camera.....
