The New York Times' Really Big Ad
When I went on The New York Times Web site yesterday morning, I was greeted with another one of the new super-sized ads that the Online Publishers Association has been rolling out to its members. Well, this one actually rolled up. The ad, which was for this little tweak to Microsoft's search offering called Bing, is I think what the OPA calls the Pushdown, since it rolls down the page before rolling up to a much, more diminutive size. I'm sure many people will find this new format obnoxious, but I thought it was great -- not only noticeable, but memorable, and not memorable to me just because I spent time with it while pulling the above screen grab of it to show to all of you.
