CAE to Provide Aircrew Training for Canada
Last year the Canadian government set up a training program for their military called Operational Training Systems Provider (OTSP). This would primarily rely on a commercial provider to do the training and CAE was selected to run the program. Due to the political problems in Canada over the last few months the contact for this was never implemented. The Vancouver Sun reports that the Canadian government will announce that CAE has been awarded the first part of the contract. This is a $250 million Canadian option to provide C-130J crew training. The contract hast he potential to last twenty years if the Canadians go ahead with the various aircraft programs they are currently planning.
