Most disliked athletes in America: Michael Vick, Tiger Woods and more
(CBS) - Much like pro wrestlers, popular athletes are often classified as "good guys" or "bad guys." You've got your Peyton Mannings and Shaquille O'Neals - charming and talented athletes who no one ever seems to talk bad about. And then you've got the other end of the spectrum. So who are the most disliked athletes in America? Forbes.com has looked at polls across most major league sports and compiled a list. Some of the names are obvious, some less so.
Michael Vick tops the list. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has topped many lists like these in the last few years. His often-times brilliant play on the gridiron hasn't been enough to convince many fans to see him as anything more than a convicted felon. His dog-fighting past continues to haunt him, and his high visibility in the NFL keeps his awareness levels high among casual football fans.
Apparently, the next worst thing after felony dog fighting charges in the eyes of fans is marrying a Kardashian. Kris Humphries' whirlwind marriage to Kim Kardashian turned the formerly little-known NBA player to a tabloid star. When Forbes focused solely on the NBA, Humphries topped the "disliked" list.
Detroit Lions' Ndamukong Suh made his first appearance on the "dislike" list this year. The defensive lineman entered the league as a fan-favorite, but opinions quickly changed after some high-profile temper tantrums and ugly on-field penalties - including the Thanksgiving day head-stomp that got Suh suspended for two games. His multi-million dollar charity donations haven't been enough to turn the tide.
