Work week in North Texas starts out cold but a warmup is on the way
After a very chilly start to the day, with many spots in North Texas dipping into the 20s during the morning, our southerly flow kicks back in, which will lead to a steady warming trend over the next several days.
For Tuesday, expect morning lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s, mostly above freezing, with daytime highs then warming into the lower 60s. We hang onto plenty of cloud cover on Tuesday, before that gradually starts to break up by mid-week.
By Wednesday, we'll see a bit more sunshine, with more clouds to our southeast, where we will see just a very isolated shower chance. Overall, most of us remain dry, with highs warming into the mid to upper 60s come Wednesday afternoon.
The sunshine really looks to return by Thursday, with highs warming to the upper 60s. A mostly dry cold front sweeps through Thursday into Friday, however, dropping temps briefly into the lower 60s for Friday.
That is out ahead of near-record-breaking temps by Saturday, when highs warm to the upper 70s.
The long-range forecast looks warmer than average and also drier than average, and while still 10-11 days out, our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day forecasts are looking warm and above average as well.
