The @CBSDFW Weather Authority: Gusty Winds and A Cold Front

Good morning! There is a lot going on today.
We're already off to a breezy start across
North Texas. Winds are sustained between
10-20 mph this morning.

Wind gusts are already exceeding 20mph for
our Northern Counties. They will continue
throughout the morning.

Expect a wind advisory in effect between
9am - 6pm today with sustained winds between
20-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.

Once the cold front pushes through the
Metroplex the winds will shift out of
West and increase! Dry air will settle
in and the temperatures will remain on
the warm side.

Rain chances will be greater for our
Eastern Counties today. There is a 30%
of showers and thunderstorms in the
forecast when the cold front pushes through.

We'll reach highs in the lower-80s and
upper-70s today but the temperatures will
fall into the 40s overnight! The cooler air
settling in will drop highs into the 60s for
the next few days. The next disturbance hits
us on Sunday with rain chances increasing
and temperatures dropping.
