Sunny, hot, humid in North Texas ahead of Summer Solstice

First weekend of summer will be hot and dry in North Texas

Summer officially kicks off Friday, as the Summer Solstice arrives at 9:42 p.m. CT, and it is most certainly feeling like the start of summer in North Texas.

Temperatures are sticking in the mid to upper 90s for a stretch, but feels-like temperatures are even hotter, thanks to high humidity. 

Expect those heat index values to range from about 95°-105° during the afternoons, through the end of the extended period, and beyond.

Keep the sunglasses and the sunscreen handy, and remember to stay hydrated, even if you don't feel thirsty.

Heat is one of the top weather-related killers in the United States, so taking those preventative measures is critical.
