North Texas under wind advisory Tuesday following a stormy morning
Severe storms rolled through North Texas in the early morning hours Tuesday, causing a lot of damage mainly due to straight line winds.
A First Alert Weather Day is in effect Tuesday due to the strong, severe storms followed by a windy afternoon.
Winds will remain strong the rest of the day – a wind advisory is in place until 9 p.m. Tuesday as winds could gust up to near 60 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, an elevated fire threat is possible along and west of I-35 Wednesday through Friday due to the high winds combined with low humidity.
Avoid any activity that could start a fire as winds will cause fires to spread quickly and secure loose outdoor objects.
Temperatures on Tuesday will top in the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.
Cooler air moves in behind Tuesday morning's system, keeping highs in the low 60s on Wednesday.
Some areas will wake up to the upper 30s Thursday morning. After a brief warm up into Friday, temperatures once again cool on Saturday behind the next front.
