All but 1 statewide ballot propositions are on their way to passing

Texas voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide a series of propositions on issues ranging from taxation to property rights, education and infrastructure development.

Among the ballot measures that passed, according to projections by The Associated Press, are proposals to prohibit a wealth or net worth tax; increase the homestead tax exemption to $100,000; create the Texas Broadband Infrastructure Fund to finance high-speed internet access; and allow local governments to exempt child care facilities from property taxes.

As Texas voters made their choices, they weighed the potential impacts of these propositions on their state's future direction. The propositions collectively reflected the diverse set of challenges and opportunities facing the state and its residents.
